Patek Philippe ref. 5104 Brings $576,000 at Antiquorum Sale
On Thursday June 10 bidders watched as Antiquorum’s New York Spring Sale generated $4,511,268. The auction room was filled and 420 bidders registered online. Bids came in from Italy, the Netherlands, China, Israel, the Russian Federation, Japan, and the United States. The highlight of the sale was a Patek Philippe ref. 5104. The platinum minute-repeater with skeletonized dial (lot 363) had not previously been offered for sale, and it included the original fitted winding box. The pre-sale estimate was $500,000 to $700,000.A 1946 Patek Philippe ref. 1518 with perpetual calendar, chronograph and moon phase (lot 362) sold for a very strong $282,000, well above the pre-sale estimate of $150,000 to $200,000.Patek Philippe references 3970 (lot 359, below) and 5970 (lot

The cases either had white or rose gold, mixed with black ceramic and polished titanium. I've checked out these pieces before, and they are nicely made with really bold designs. I love the quasi-checkered bezels iconic to the brand. The five symmetrical subdials are beautifully arranged with straight forwar
