Scenes From the WatchTime/F.P. Journe Collectors’ Event in Miami
Miami’s most ultra-luxe shopping destination played host to a lively gathering of avid watch collectors, and a rare U.S. appearance by a watch-industry rock star, on June 8, as WatchTime and F.P. Journe co-hosted an exclusive cocktail and dinner event at the brand’s boutique in the Bal Harbour Shops.More than a dozen watch aficionados and fans of the F.P. Journe brand were in attendance, along with myself and WatchTime’s event manager, Minda Larsen; the manager and staff of the F.P. Journe boutique; Montres Journe U.S. brand director, Pierre Halimi; and of course, the guest of honor and main attraction, company founder and namesake Francois-Paul Journe. The French independent watchmaker, who created his first watch in 1983 and founded his eponymous brand in 1999, posed for photos with guests, showed and discussed his latest watch releases (including the F.P. Journe Elegante, the brand’s first dedicated ladies’ watch collection, which made its official U.S.

SIHH 2010 Preview: Lange 1 Daymatic
For 2010, A. Lange & S?hne introduces the Lange 1 Daymatic with a completely new 426-part self-winding movement. This is the first automatic member of the Lange 1 family. The Daymatic dial mirrors the Lange 1 and adds a retrograde day-of-the-week indication. For those who wear their watch on the left wrist, this layout moves the time indication to the right so it is seen first as the sleeve is drawn back. The Lange 1 Daymatic will be available in yellow and pink gold, and in platinum. The case is 39.5mm in diameter, about 1mm larger than the Lange 1. The dial is solid silver, and an English version will be available using MTWTFSS rather than the German MDMDFSS. The Daymatic is powered by calibre L021.1, developed from the ground up for this timepiece. The central winding rotor extends to the edge of the 31.6mm movement. 5110 or 5130 -- Please help, what's your favourite and why?
newbie question striking again....I've seen that price difference for 5110 compared to 5130 are quite substantial.Is it explained for the bigger case, mostly? Newer model with little differences?or is it there more I could not figure out so far? I do appreciate this watch, on my humble opinion the epitome of GMT conceptGiven that one is 37mm and the other almost 40mm, how this difference in size look on your wrist?I'm asking so many question, sorry , but for a good cause -- I'd very much like to get one in near future, but my watches are basically 40mm and bigger...so my doubt. Any input would be much appreciated -- thank you in advanceLuciano

14060 Bezel Questions
Hey guys, I recently joined the Rolex family after acquiring a 14060 a few months ago. In this brief period of owning the watch, I have broken the diving bezel clip spring. I've actually grown to like the ability to use my bezel in both directions, my question is will there be any issues not having that spring underneath the diving bezel from now on and secondly could I install a GMT clip spring instead.Cheers.

Yet another trip to the AD
Just returned from an AD in Norfolk, VA. I was looking for the YM 40 with the Rhodium dial. Did not have one at any of their 12 locations. I really didnt think this watch was on the Oh My God cant find one list. I was told that while the Ceramic Daytonas are still at the top of the cant get one list in addition to the Batmans and Hulks and so forth the YM is now very hard to get and there are waiting lists. Anyone heard of this?FYI they did have a lot of SS DJs (all sizes) a couple of Milgause and a few Explorers in stock. I tried on the RG YM on the oysterflex. VERY nice!!
