SIHH 2013 Preview: Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Grande Complication
This year, Audemars Piguet celebrated the 40th anniversary of the original Royal Oak. Next year marks two decades of the larger, sportier Royal Oak Offshore, and Audemars Piguet plans to commemorate the milestone with the release of the extremely limited Royal Oak Grande Complication. The watch makes its debut at the SIHH watch fair in January, but the company has offered a tantalizing glimpse of it now.Audemars Piguet launched the Royal Oak Offshore in 1993, but the family-owned watch company, based in Le Brassus, Switzerland, has a history of making grand complications that stretches back to 1882. Off to Bienne...
I sent my Seamaster to Bienne today. I have heard that the Swiss service centers are much better to deal with than the ones here in the USA (I also thought it would be more fun sending it to its home.)It cost me $38.00 and change for express with insurance. It is supposed to be there in 4 business days.I asked them for some Omega goodies in my request letter, we will see what I getAfter they get the watch, service it and return it I will write a brief review of the whole process.

Three days in...
And my first incoming of 2018 is here...Happy New Year TRF! Last week I made an appointment to have my last purchase appraised and needless to say that I felt like a kid in a candy store with a number of cases filled with watches. I spotted something that I liked, asked to try it on and was amazed since I had never seen one in person before. I wasn't planning on purchasing another watch anytime soon since I wanted to get my first PM Rolex later this year. Spent a week thinking about the watch, debating whether to get it or not.
