Nav owners and your confindence of 3 bar WR
Looking for input from others - are you confident enough about your 3 bar WR to wash your watch under the faucet in the sink? - I'm familiar with the charts on line, more interested in experience from other owners.
Can you remember what started it all?
Hi all. I thought this might be a different type of thread. Can you remember your very first watch, the one that got you into collecting watches in the first place? the one that stole your heart (and money) Mine was the Breitling Chronomat TT which is no longer with me. That was back in 2007 and I've loved every minute of our wonderful hobby ever since. Why not post photos and details of your first and share with us all.
CNN video Rolex vs Patek
Hello all,First time poster here. I've been learning so much from everybody here. I've spent the majority of my time in the Patek subforum.I stumbled upon this cnn video of a comparison of Rolex vs Patek and thought I would share with the forums. It's very basic and most definitely does not go into details but it does give a glimpse into the WIS world.money.cnn/video/news/2014...l?iid=HP_RiverMark
Baselworld photos
I'm having an unsuccessful time finding photos of the new watches on display as we've seen in previous years. The photos on Rolex are overproduced and not representative imho. Any leads. Thanks
Dial Swap Question
I was looking at a pre-owned 16233 DJ 36mm at an AD. I really want to get a TT DJ 5 digit, but I specifically want it to have a white stick dial, and the one they had was a black stick. The AD has a watchmaker on staff, and suggested that could swap the black dial to a white dial for me if I wanted to purchase the watch. He said it would be swapped with an authentic Rolex dial.My question is, does that ruin the watch or otherwise put a stain on it's authenticity by not having the original dial? Also, if down the road I send it in to RSC for service, would they require to switch it back to the original black dial since it wouldn't be in the factory original configuration?
