Rado D-Star 200 Dive Watches
While I like this new watch range a lot I am torn because it is a Rado without being a modern Rado. What do I mean? Well for the last long while Rado watches have been mostly typified by having mostly ceramic cases. In fact Rado was pretty much the innovator behind ceramic watch. For 2012 a cool re-done diver collection comes out and it barely has any ceramic! Well, a bit more on the chrono model. If you can get over that then you'll probably like these new D-Star 200 Dive watches a lot.I am not sure of all the color styles that will be available but so far we have blue and black trim models. The D-Star 200 will also come in three-hand and chronograph variants. The three-hand model will be 42mm wide and the chronograph will be 44mm wide. The cases are in steel and sort of retro-barrel shaped. I actually like this case design a lot. Interestingly enough Rado claims that the deployment clasps on the bracelets will be in titanium. The D-Star 200 names stems from the fact that the watches a
Affordable Vintage: Cyma WWW
In the early 1940’s, the British Ministry of Defense (MoD) published a set of specifications for a wristwatch design that they wanted to use for their soldiers. The specifications are commonly referred to as WWW, or Watch Wristlet Waterproof. Twelve companies submitted watches that met the criteria: Buren, Cyma, Eterna, Grana, Jaeger LeCoultre, Lemania, Longines, IWC, Omega, Record, Timor and Vertex. These twelve watches together are called the “Dirty Dozen” by military watch collectors. Interestingly, the war ended before these great watches could be issued to soldiers for combat duty.Of the twelve brands, the Cyma is one of most popular for several reasons. The Cyma WWW is housed in a solid stainless steel case, measuring a respectable 38mm wide not including the large crown. Many of the other manufacturers used chrome plated cases which have survived to varying degrees, making the steel case of the Cyma easier to find in nice condition. Also, the 38mm case is the l
Rubber B for Audemars Piguet Royal Oak
I just got the email from Rubber B about this new strap. I have to say that I'm exited for this one, but I feel like I was on the waiting list forever. The best part is that I won't need to buy any plots or conversion kits. The strap just fits right into the case. These pictures are from their email. I will post mine & give feedback as soon as I receive & install it sometime next week. ( I Hope! )
Too big , too small or just nice?

Just got Speedy Reduced BACK!
Just picked up my Speedy Reduced from Omega Beverly Hills after a $530+tax service. Got a new crystal, new push buttons, new bracelet pins and a new two year warranty. Along the way, the bracelet and watch got a complete overhaul and polish and they actually managed to take out a few nicks on the bezel...Too bad I didn't take any before photos and there is no use for the after as the watch looks essentially new. Had the watch since 1997 and never had a service until it started to run about +30Sec a day...now its about +3sec (checked this morning)....Happy Omega camper today and once again, the watch brings a smile to my face after all these years...
