Mhle Glashtte SAR Rescue-Timer Review
For those of us that love watches, Glashtte has special meaning. This small town in Germany contains a few of the greatest watch brands currently in operation, brands that seem to achieve horological feats that other brands worldwide can't quite compete with. On one hand, you have a brand like A. Lange & Sohne making some of the most epically complicated, finished and expensive luxury watches, and on the other you have Nomos, who make the most accessibly priced watches with manufacture movements. And while these brands, and one or two others, might get the most attention of those in Glashutte, there are several others there that also go above and beyond to create exceptional timepieces. One brand that we here at worn&wound have always enjoyed, but seems to go under the radar, is Nautische Instrumente Mhle-Glashtte more commonly referred to as just Mhle.Mhle has a very long history as a manufacturer and as a family in the region, having been in one form or another for 5 ge
Loyal or stupid?
I've got a Nautilus 5712 and AC 5146G. I've wanted to add an Aquanaut 5167 for some time now. First in queue or so my AD tells me. Earlier this week I found a double sealed 5167 (and a double sealed 5711) in the grey market, and turned them down 😫My reasons for doing so:1) I had told my AD I would get the 5167 from them. No deposit placed but had asked that I get the next one they have. So a gentlemen's agreement if you will. 2) My 5712 was ordered by someone else who changed their mind before taking delivery. I met him at a different AD and took delivery of the watch. But I could tell that the buying experience was sub par as I wasn't the AD's customer. 3) I want to establish a long term relationship with my AD as I think that'll have long term returns.Anyone else let go of watches for the sake of loyalty and a better buying experience? 5140 vs 5205
Yes, yes, an apples to oranges comparison, but I am curious which would you prefer to own as your calendar / daily watch? - Perpetual vs. annual- 37.5 vs. a small 40 mm- Subdial display vs. apertures- 5140 is thinner (dressier / more elegant) vs. 5205 thicker (sportier)- traditional design vs. something a little more fresh?I would appreciate comments on the these two regardless of case material, etc. BUT, something has crossed my mind and that something is the following:5205R that I currently own being replaced by 5140P.thanks. New 2018 dial printing "SWISS ♛ MADE"
This coronet logo now appears at the bottom of the dial at the 6 O'Clock position between the usual SWISS MADE.Anyone know what it signifies apart from the fact that the watch is virtually unobtainable what is the official answer and is it significant to you?
Any opinions on this Submariner Serti?
I came across this recently in search of a Rolex. It is a like New 2004 18k Gold & Stainless Steel Submariner Serti with date.Price is $9,150.00 with everything the watch came with on original purchase.First off, is this a fair price? Secondly, what to you experienced Rolex owners thing of this model (ref 16613)?Thanks,Mike
