Baselworld 2013: Breitling Emergency II
If you were an owner of the original Breitling Emergency watch, then you're?probably?the sort of person that engages in dangerous activities that leave you with a higher than normal chance of being stranded in the middle of nowhere. For the people that need this watch, and perhaps for others who live a normal lifestyle but are a little paranoid of "what if" scenarios,?Breitling has just come up with the Emergency II.The brand new Emergency II watch adds new features and at the same time takes away the perceived weaknesses of the original. You see, the original Emergency had a 121.5MHz transmitter that, when activated, had a range of??90 nautical miles (167?km) by search aircraft flying at 20,000 feet (6,000 m). This was assuming normal conditions, or basically flat terrain or calm seas. If you found yourself outside such conditions, then the range would be considerably shorter.Add to that the fact that the Emergency didn't have enough power to send the signal up to a satellite, but onl
Boucheron Bestiary Ronde Seconde Folle Collection, The Chameleon, Frog, And Owl Watches
I wrote about these watches individually on Luxistwatches-dealer but wanted to discuss the Boucheron Bestiary Ronde Seconds Folle collection as a whole here. I had a distinct thought when I first saw this collection. It took me back to being a child at Disney Land here in California. Disney had (and I don't know if they do anymore) the ability to create a distinct type of fantasy character often via anthropomorphic with the ability to create a fond sense of some type of ambiguous nostalgia. In a nutshell, that means classic Disney cartoon characters have a way of making you feel good and friendly, and you are not always sure why. I see a bit of of this sentiment in these cartoon-like animal character in the Boucheron Bestiary collection (really they could have used a better term that bestiary - seriously not friendly enough a term, plus we are talking about only three animals). This is especially evident in the frog and the owl. Is there not something a bit Disney-esque about them? Then

Panerai as a beater?
Not as bad as the title.Newbie looking at buying a first Panerai watch. The one I am looking at is a Luminor, am I correct in thinking all luminor models have the crown lock? I believe from what I have read this aids water resistance? There are a confusion of model types, but the one I am after will just have second hand and date. To get back to the thread I have a simple Seiko 5 at the moment I wear most of the time. I am after a 'better' watch I can wear for work with an enhanced presence, but not over the top.The qualities I am after is to wear the watch basically 24 / 7 , in the sea / pool on holiday, and golf / low energy sports etc. Would the Panerai live like this? Not really bothered about picking up the odd scratch, and also planning to have it on a stainless bracelet for water purposes. Any advice before making the purchase would be appreciated.Toby.
