Breitling Rolls Out New Bentleys
It's been a big year for Breitling, which introduced a slew of new products at this year's Baselworld watch fair in March. The brand’s family of Breitling for Bentley watches, elegant sporting timepieces developed in cooperation with Bentley, the prestigious British automobile marque, was no exception. This year sees the debut of two new models: a more compact version of the Barnato and a new limited edition, the GMT V8.The Breitling for Bentley Barnato 42 is the newest iteration of the watch created as a tribute to the so-called “Bentley Boys,” the 1920s British motorists who helped establish Bentley’s reputation for high-performance sports cars. It has a 42-mm-diameter stainless steel case that is water-resistant to 100 meters. It features red-rimmed chronograph subdials, a screw-locked crown, and the model’s characteristic knurled bezel, which echoes the look of the control buttons on a Bentley dashboard. The central chronograph seconds hand is also in
A Week On The Wrist: The TAG Heuer Carrera 1887 41mm Chronograph
Few watches have as storied a history as the Carrera, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year alongside the Rolex Daytona. While the Carrera has definitely gone through many revisions over the years, the same DNA is still there from the beginning. We decided to take the current Carrera, housing TAG Heuer's Calibre 1887 movement, for a spin, and here we give you a look at the birth of Carrera, the intricacies of the Calibre 1887 movement, and what is was like to wear this modern Carrera for a week. The Birth Of The Carrera 1 OF 40 The Carrera 1887 The Heuer Carrera was first launched in 1963, though for decades it was believed to have not been unveiled until 1964. This was long before sport chronograph watches had any mainstream popularity in the United States (and it took the Viceroy Autavia to turn this around in 1972), and Heuer was mainly known as a producer of stopwatches for race car drivers. The Carrera was originally intended as a tool
Speedmaster accelerated patina
Hi All,I own a Speedmaster from 1974 but do not wear it often.I did not wear it for 4 months. I remember very well when I stored it in the box that the indexes had a nice light cream / beige patina. This morning I decided to wear the Speed and when I took it out of the box, the index color whas...green.Is there an explanation ( lack of light???) for this accelerated color change? All my boxes have silicagel humidity absorbers, even for a handwash I take off my watches, humidity or water cannot be the cause. The tritium is not dammaged, looks not wrotten, it only changed from cream to appel green.Who can me help understand, can tell me why, knows if an intense sun exposition might reverse the proces or if it will be green forever???Thanks for your expertise.
Incoming... mic drop... I֪ out...
If you know... you know... I֪ done for awhile now. My favorite Patek, after owning the 5980/1A, 5712/1A, and a handful of others Ie found the one. And a little extra text on the dial to make to truly special. The experience was out of this world.
BLNR - No photo trickery
Took this pic of my BLNR yesterday, was surprised when I uploaded it to find the bezel had turned completely blue?
