The brand marks the occasion of humankind's symbolic passage into this new underworld predicted by the Mayan calendar with a 12-piece edition created in tribute to the scholarly traditions of this people. Introducing: The New Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Reference 26574 (Details, Official
Audemars Piguet has released a new take on one of its most popular model, the Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar. The latest iteration follows the release of the last QP wristwatch in 2012 with an upgraded and upsized movement, a slightly more complicated display, clearer dial, and larger case size. A special birthday treat....
When your family thinks that there is something wrong with your fascination of luxury watches and a particular brand in that respect. They can't seem to relate to the obsession and passion of the same aesthetics and design to be acquired persistently. However on this day they paid a deserving tribute to the conviction and enthusiasm infused in all of us.
Pics of a very photo shy dial (5140P content)
It pains me to have to send this beauty down the road, but before I do I wanted to share a few pix of what has been the most confounding difficult dials to capture in photos that I've ever experienced. The dial looks incredibly beautiful in person with it's gentle blue sunburst contrasted against the soft white metal. However, try to capture its beauty with a camera and suddenly it's a whole different game. Just when you think you have the right angle, reflections show up. Eliminate the reflections and the hands disappear. Get the hands right and the dial goes too dark. As an amateur photo enthusiast, it was maddening. The trick (for me at least) was to find a powerful light source i.e., sun, and diffuse it. Then find the right angle, use the correct exposure compensation and color balance. After a many, many unsuccessful tries, here are the best results I came up with. I dare say (without trying to brag), I think they're among the best photos I've seen of this particular reference wit
Rolex in Alaska!
Well after 25 years of wanting a Rolex I finally pulled the trigger and bought a Submariner date. 116410 Black!! My desire to own started out when I first seen a sub while on vacation in Hawaii. And every time I took the family on vacations undoubtedly was in some mall that a Rolex AD was. I tried one on every year and always had a great white glove experience. Two months ago I called my Alaska Anchorage Rolex AD and got on the list And was told that they have not received one in 6 months and to be patient. I received a call from Macey, the Rolex sales lady! I paid for it over the phone and and picked it up a week later when I got home from work. The watch tech removed two links and it now fits like a glove. I paid the MSRP of 8550$ and I am very glad to own this watch. It's beautiful and I will wear it daily. Ted
