Cartier Artistic Crafts & High Jewelry Watches For 2012
At the exclusive watch show SIHH, Cartier has one of the largest booths. A lot of their space is dimly lit with museum style showcases offering glimpses of items you probably won't see anywhere else. Given that the show is not open to the public, most people will never see these pieces at all. In the cases are a range of artistic and high-jewelry creations that the French brand has produced for the year. Some of these are piece uniques, some parts of limited editions, and some might not even be sold at all. Whatever the nature of the item, I am usually sure to find at least a few beautiful things.Not all of these items are watches, but most are. High-jewelry (or haute joaillerie as it is often known) enjoys having "mystery display" watches where dials are only revealed after opening or sliding something to the side. Diego Maradona Prefers Double Hublot Wrist Watches
My favorite types of compatriot watch lovers are in love with fellow eccentric watch. Featured this month following the 2010 football World Cup is the Argentine Diego Maradona. Player turned coach, the soccer personality now very rich ("ahem, I mean football") is a major watch lover and made to wear watches on both wrists. Although not a daily occurrence, Diego bears two watches, especially when he travels.

Affordable Vintage: 70's Bulova Deep Sea Chronograph
Over the years, Bulova has produced a boat load of differently styled divers and chronographs. During the 1970’s, they made several different diver chronographs with a variety of case and dial styles. Perhaps the most quintessential of the 1970’s was the Deep Sea Chronograph with “surfboard dial”. Produced for only two years, 1970 and 1971, this chunky diver has all the 1970’s hallmarks.My example was made in 1971, and is in all original condition. The dial is the main attraction here, silvery white with a fantastic blue oval “surfboard” encircling the two chronograph register sub dials. It has thick, applied steel markers with lume filled lines, and unique broad white hands with day-glow orange tips. I once heard someone refer to them as “cigarette” hands as they do resemble a cigarette with an ember at the tip! Aquanaut 5167a Strap Options?
The 5167a comes as standard with a black rubber strap. I see there's also a green strap on a special edition, and possibly a brown strap available as well?Has anyone got photos of their steel 5167 on these straps?Thanks
