Bring a Loupe: An Extraordinary Royal Oak, A Familiar Universal Geneve, And Many Amazing Chronograph
This week's Bring A Loupe will be all about amazing vintage watches, featuring many of my absolute favorites, soon to become yours too. You will discover a Royal Oak in platinum, some of the greatest pre-Daytona chronographs from Rolex, and plenty of mythical Movado, LeCoultre, and Universal Geneve watches as well. In my auction picks I also identified two questionable lots, but rest assured that the other pieces will more than make for the early disappointment. This is your Bring a Loupe for July 24, 2015. A Very, Very Rare Royal Oak Jumbo In PLATINUM 1 OF 16 This might be the ultimate Royal Oak, we did warn you four years ago. It looks almost like any other regular Royal Oak Jumbo until you focus on the dial. Surprise, the traditional tapisserie pattern is gone but there is a good reason: this Royal Oak is in PLATINUM! This model was intended as a celebration piece for the 125th anniversary of Audemars Piguet but it met with very limited enthusiasm back in 19
Please help me authenticate this watch (ap 26300)
Hey everyone! I am new to the forum and need some help authenticating a watch that I am interested in buying from a private seller. Everything seems to check out and he even sent me a copy of the service records from AP. Is this watch authentic? Is there anything I should be concerned about? Is there a way to match up the information in the service record to the actual watch? Any comments or feedback is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advanceJason
Another Speedmaster or a Datejust?
Looking to add a brown dialed piece to my collection. Initially, I was considering the rose gold, chocolate dial Datejust. Then I saw this Speedmaster! Yes, they are 2 very different pieces and I already have a Speedy, but this one is very different and stunning! Thoughts?Current collection includes:Speedmaster 105.012, Rolex BLNR, Rolex OP 39mm, JLC MUT Moon, Hublot Classic Fusion, Breitling Aerospace
Speedmaster accelerated patina
Hi All,I own a Speedmaster from 1974 but do not wear it often.I did not wear it for 4 months. I remember very well when I stored it in the box that the indexes had a nice light cream / beige patina. This morning I decided to wear the Speed and when I took it out of the box, the index color whas...green.Is there an explanation ( lack of light???) for this accelerated color change? All my boxes have silicagel humidity absorbers, even for a handwash I take off my watches, humidity or water cannot be the cause. The tritium is not dammaged, looks not wrotten, it only changed from cream to appel green.Who can me help understand, can tell me why, knows if an intense sun exposition might reverse the proces or if it will be green forever???Thanks for your expertise.
Panerai 267 for sale @ Watch u Want
Nice little video and an awesome watch! I'm sure it'll be a ridiculous price. I've emailed my guy there to see, just for giggles! I love that watch and movement!
