Audemars Piguet & Theo Jansen's Strandbeests At Art Basel 2014
Theo Jansen conversing with patrons of the Strandbeest Audemars Piguet pavilion at Art Basel, 2014Audemars Piguet has been a sponsor of the famed Art Basel in Miami Beach, FL, for the past two years. The relationship is ongoing, and Audemars Piguet uses the event as a means to introduce new ambassadors as well as to announce its ongoing commitment in supporting select artists and causes. At this year's show, the focus was on Dutch artist Theo Jansen, whose Strandbeests are mechanical automatons resembling massive, though what would be rather miniature,?lifelike "beasts." Completely made of recycled PVC tubes, joints, and plastic bottles, these strange creations are powered by capturing and compressing air and using an ingenious logic model. By devising a so-called analogue NAND gate, the artist is able to create what are essentially logic circuits, so that the beasts can automatically decide when to stop (when one reaches the sea water) and continue when no water is detected and reserve
I can't take my new AP15300 out of its cocoon
Hello all. Just got this brand new white 15300 Friday but I can't seem to take it out of the factory sealed bag. Maybe I have too many watches. Or maybe non of my new watches ever came in a sealed bag.Anyway, it was time to rotate my everyday watch so Saturday I went to the bank and brought the AP there and put it in my lbox with the rest of the boys and maybe in a week or two I will rip open the bag. Unless you guys and girls can talk me into opening it up sooner! Well I left with my Gilt 1675 with disstressed dial, but never poleshed case
Consistently losing time
Hi. My Aquanaut has been losing 6 seconds a day over the past 2 months. I have tried putting it in various positions when its not on my wrist (crown up, crown down, face up, face down...etc). I was planning on going to Henri Stern on Monday to see if they can either take the watch to fix this or am I being overly demanding? Any opinions will be appreciated. Thanks

BLRO--A Rolex Fail ?
I dont know if this watch was meant to be produced in small quantities from the start but IMO Rolex slipped when it went to the high end with this watch. The old pepsi is still a legend, but it was a tool watch and in stainless not WG. The watch is clearly unaffordable to most fans, loses value quickly, the colors are off, and other things that are not common to most attractive Rolex watches.Rolex still has life into the GMT by way of the popular BLNR, but that is about it. The Root beer is gone, the black bezel and two tone are not doing so hot.Rolex HAS to come back to the old COKE RONR in SS to inject new life into this line !!
