MB&F HM5 CarbonMacrolon Watch
MB&F has a rule that they can't do anything like other brands - a policy that, for the most part, they are pretty good at sticking to. With this newest and third iteration of the Horological Machine No. 5 (HM5), they created a black-cased watch, not with a black coating over metal, but with a novel material they like to call "CarbonMacrolon." Thus, we have a dark version of the 1970s sports car inspired "driver's watch," paired with cool purple accents.The HM5 (reviewed here) is one of my favorite Horological Machines. In addition to being amongst the most affordable (really not saying much), it is also amongst the most wearable. A driver's watch, in the traditional sense, allowed the wearer to read the time at a glance from the side of their watch, with their hands on a steering wheel. Sorry in advance for the long post and the truly, truly pathetic iphone pics. (I actually debated making an incoming thread at all because of the pics, lol.)I got the DD40 in May '16 and its been my daily until last week. I got a call from my AD a few weeks ago and went in to see the SD43. I really liked it but thought that Basel was just around the corner and I was leaning more towards another PM as I love the weight and the feel. I told them to sell it to the next person and it was gone the same day. But... I couldn't get it out of my mind after I left and asked them to keep me on the list for the next one.For some strange reason, I thought that they would get another in very quickly even though it was only the second one the AD has received since it was released.
