Watch What-If: Rolex Sky-Dweller
"Watch What-If" is a special column on aBlogtoReadwatches-dealer that asks the playful question "what if an iconic watch you know and love was offered in a different style?" The idea embraces a good timepiece's core design and has fun by offering new colors and material concepts to stimulate your senses. These ideas may be provocative, artistic, or just plain silly. This is about fun, Photoshop, and the celebration of wrist watch design and experimentation. The original design we work off of will always be at the bottom of the article. The designs are brought to life by Beau Hudspeth who does the artwork and concepting after he and I choose the models and styles to focus on. These "special design experiments" are extremely time consuming and labor intensive but we hope you enjoy the results. Ideas and comments are more than welcome. Decided to Give My SMP a New Look, Nato Strap!
I've been wanting to get the Omega Ridged Rubber Strap for my SMP for the last ten years or so since I got my SMP. But, I just couldn't justify spending that much on it.My SMP has been great to me and has been my primary watch for the past 10 years. It has a lot of memories and sentimental value. But, I've gone through two clasps on it and I wanted to freshen it up a bit. So, I noticed the trend of the Nato and Zulu straps on the forum and decided to give it a shot.Initially I had an eBay special $5 watch tool kit that included a spring bar removal tool, but the tool SUCKED. So, I spent some money and bought the Bergeon one and I had my Omega bracelet off in minutes. Here are a couple pics of the watch:I'm enjoying it. If you guys have any other suggestions on other cool Nato or Zulu straps, please let me know!
Speedmaster in Oslo...
Just got back from a cruise of Northern Europe and the Baltic Sea. Upon going through my pics, I almost forgot I had taken a pic of the time as we were pulling into Oslo, Norway... at 7:40am. What a beautiful city.
Two Omegas - Zero Rolex
After flipping a lot of watches the last year (mostly Rolex) - I settled for two Omegas - and I couldn't be happier! (Even as this means, I have no Rolex for the moment)Both has been restored close to mint, by my local watchmakerSeamaster: 1959 (all steel, alligator strap)Speedmaster Pro: 1978 (GasGasBones strap)...one for everyday wear, and one for dress(Graphic and photo by me - except sailboat, and moon surface of course)
