Revised Weiss Standard Issue Field Watch Now Packs More US-Made Key Components
It?has been?only a few months since Ariel reviewed the Weiss Standard Issue Field Watch, and yet we are returning to the very same model to share a brief C and most welcome C update?related to the making of this piece. In the review (which you can find here, in case you missed it) we pointed out that a majority of the parts of this Weiss watch are made in the US, hence the?visibly placed "Los Angeles, CA" designation on the dial. A few things have changed over the last few months however, so let's see what these slight modifications are that render this affordable watch even more interesting for those looking to purchase?items largely?made in the US.An ever wider array of components in the Weiss Standard Issue Field Watch are now made in the US, or rather, in Los Angeles, California, to be exact. The list of US-made parts now?includes all components of the 42 millimeter wide steel case, the?dial, sapphire crystal, gaskets, spring bar tools, as well as the Cordura canvas and leather str
Houston We Have a BIG Problem!!
So i'm sure many of you remember last week I had purchased an AP Legacy and posted several pictures of it. Well, over the weekend I was only wearing it around the house and because of it's HUGE 48mm size, the ceramic octagonal crown was digging into my wrist and hurt because of the sharp point. I could'nt screw down the crown anymore to change the angle and if I tried to unscrewed it a bit to change the angle of the crown and to make it not be so uncomfortable, i feared water would get in it and didn't want to take such a big risk with such a $$ watch. Another negative about the watch is, the bullet proof strap was starting to frey a bit, and i could only imagine what it would look like after a couple of months... also, the strap isn't waterproof because of the leather underside of the strap, so I could never swim with it or shower or anything.. it would be just a once in a while watch which I already own in my collection.. I really loved it so much, but these were things that hit me w
Snoopy Incoming Imminent
Got an email from my boutique yesterday. They still can't confirm when, but they confirmed for certain that I'll be getting the snoopy speedmaster. It is likely that I'll be waiting a few more months, but I'm not in a rush. The waiting is half the fun. I've already paid for this years LE Speedmaster so I'm excited to begin building a little collection of Basel release LE speedmasters. Likely I'll get these two right around the same time. I know it's blasphemy, but there is a part of me that just wants to collect them and keep them in stickers, in the box. Im daydreaming about building a nice display case in my home office and having them and a few stickered up older Rolex watches sit pretty. Then just watching this collection grow over the years.
My First PAM 24 Sub
Have had this watch on my list for years, finally pulled trigger on an O series Submersible. They don't seem to be the most popular and have only seen one in the wild. Bezel is tight and unlike my other 7750 based watches, there is no noticeable rotor wobble on this one. Thinking of dressing it up with an alligator strap, but I think this is probably a beach and jeans sort of tool watch.
Annoyed about AD experience
Hello everyone,I'm new to the forum and Rolexes in general.I have always wanted to start a real collection of these luxury watches and both my wife and I have been very fortunate to receive huge promotions recently which now allow this to become reality. For my first Rolex I really want a BLNR and also concurrently want to get my wife a new Diamond Tag Heuer Carrera. (I know!! BUT she has her heart set on this model when she saw it.) I also want to get her, her first Rolex for our anniversary. I want to be put on the list for a 43 mm sea dweller for myself and a Daytona C for my father as a thank you for all he has done for me in my earlier years to help me get where I am today. Anyways, armed with vast knowledge from TRF as I have been lurking the last year or so yesterday I set out to go try and make deal(s) happen at all of my close dealers to see stock and overall friendliness and try to develop a relationship but quickly realized that this is going to be a lot harder than I
