AP 15400 Date Change
HI I am considering a 15400. Love the watch. I have heard through these forums from owners that the date function does not turn over at/near midnight. I am wondering why this is the case? Many simple eta watches execute this flawlessly. Why on a watch of this level, with an in house movement not have this capability?
New Safari Hornback strap + new Deployant on Diver !!!
After I posted a question on the general Rolex forum about trading my DSSD D-Blue for a Diver, after many comments and deliberations, I decided to keep the DSSD AND buy a brand spanking new Diver (15710ST) from an AD.All I can say is that after one week with the Diver, I don't want to wear any other watch in my collection ! I am smitten with the Diver! Now, back to the title of this post... As much as I love the rubber strap that comes with it, I had always loved the trademark AP hornback straps, and particularly the one from the Safari. After seeing the new Safari last week at the Las Vegas boutique, I was set on ordering the strap. BUT, my only concern was that it would require a tang buckle. I am not a big fan of tang buckles on expensive straps, as they wear out the leather after a few months of use, while a deployant would not add any wear at all. (I have had PAM's with deployants whose straps would look like new after a year of use.).So, I was pleasantly surprised
Will a Speedy bracelet from a SMP 2254.50 fit a PO 2201.50?
I've tried to search threads and I have come up empty handed.Does anyone know if a Speedy bracelet (from a 2254.50) will fit perfectly on a PO 2201.50? If so, does anyone have any pictures to show how the end links fit with the 2201.50 case? Thanks!
DayDate40 or 5711a ?
So I posted this in the Patek sub forum, but wanted to see what the Rolex forum thinks. My AD (and longtime friend) believes he will be able to get me a 5711a white dial sometime this year. Nothing written in stone and of course with the current crazy market and shortages, it may or may not happen. The DayDate40 would be yg with sliver deconstructed romans. This would be for my wife, she did not really know much about watches before meeting me, now she's just as enthusiastic about them as I am.She currently wears a 116613 two tone blue submariner as her daily watch, and also has a Cartier santos, which is also two tone. She has always liked the 5711, ever since I showed a picture to her many years ago, however we were not in the position to buy back then. She also really likes the DayDate and has tried it on numerous times. She has tried on a 5711r, but has never seen the 5711a in person. We both wear our watches everyday and try not to baby them, however she has said that she probably
Tough Call - which one would you ?
Hi all, new to this forum. Really torn between the 116515 black dial oysterflex and 116518 champagne dial oysterflex.... Which one would you choose? (I'm 32 yo with fair skin)
