Jumbo 15202 vs 15400
Seems like the 15400 is gaining popularity amongst the community here from the postings we are seeing of new ownership of this piece and proclamations of love for it.The 15202 Jumbo on the other hand seems to be hiding in the background? Anyone getting or already got this beauty? I was comparing the two at the AP boutique and was encouraged to go for the Jumbo as its more classy and importantly more original if you may pit it that way to the first origins of the royal oak and the 39mm size is the best size for the oak. I wear big watches like panerai but when wearing the oak the 39mm seems perfect size for the oak while the 15400 seems a bit out of proportion like being large for fashion purposes only. What are your thoughts ?
Watchmaker...
Any watchmaker in the Knoxville, TN area that someone would recommend? Thanks,Logan Hale
Should I add a 5196J (sorry i made a mistake in the reference in my previous post)
Hi all, as you may have seen from a previous discussion, I currently have the 3738G, 5164, 5146G slate, 5172. Last month, i was about to do a trade to upgrade to a 5960P. But after some hesitations, i didnt do the trade. My wife thinks the 5960P grey is quite flashy and I finally preferred keeping my existing ones then to trade in 2 of them for the 5960. The black 5960P is not something i like. Deep down, I have always fancied the 5196J. When I had only 1 Patek a long while ago, i was contemplating to get the 5196J but decided to buy the others because the 5196 seems to be a common Calatrava not worth spending the money on. But over the years, whenever I see one, it makes my heart race. Does it make sense to add the Calatrava to my existing collection? What do you think of this model? I am not considering any other brands (VC, Lange, Breguet, Blancpain, etc) nor any other models in the Patek collection. Thank you all for any inputs you may have.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Service: RSC or AD with in house capability
I'm thinking of servicing my yachtmaster and perhaps others after 13 years of ownership. The AD, Benari in Exton, PA I recently landed an SD43 from has in house capabilities. I'd kinda prefer to use them as I feel my salesman Joel is quite knowledgeable and and great to deal with and feel like I can give detail direction plus i think it would be turned around quicker. My sense is that if I bring to NYC they will tend to do what they think needs to be done and decide on their own. Am I way off? This would be a trial run for my Kermit as it scares me to send it in and have them switch the bezel, all though it's in great shape, or something I didn't direct them to do like maybe polish it. My yatchmaster and Kermit are running great but feel it may be time for a preemptive general tune up. I guess I'm due but part of me also thinks why mess with it and the expense. I would like a polish and spa treatment on my YM though and hence my desire to send it in. So I'm looking for general thou
spring bar tool recommendation
Looking for a recommendation for a spring bar tool for changing out bands and straps. I bought one for for $10 on amazon and the pin end of it bent and broke off - i guess you get what you pay for. I want one to use with bracelets on Tudor's and Rolex's with and with out drilled lug holes. Thanks!
