Watches NEWS
New watches-dealer Website For 2014
Welcome to a new look and feel for the watches-dealer watch blog website. We enter what is perhaps the fifth overall version of the site and the second major design to use the watches-dealerwatches-dealer (versus older aBlogtoReadwatches-dealer name). One of the notable small changes is that the new version of watches-dealer removes the "formerly aBlogtoRead" label we once had in the header. Even though many industry people still like to call us "aBlogtoRead," the name is part of our history. With the new for 2014 watches-dealer website we offer a lot of improvements both visually and behind the scenes. Before discussing what's new and helping to orient our audience to the new experience I'd like to offer thanks. None of this would have been possible without our dedicated technical and assistance team that includes technical lead Kristin Kramer, talented programmer Keith Freedman, master art director Matt Smith-Johnson, and master of social media and jack-of-all-trades Zen Love.I also w
Omega Seamaster Deville repair?? Help
I recently sent out my omega seamaster deville watch (1960's) for an overhaul and crown replacement. When I got it back the new crown was different from the one that was originally on the watch. It now is difficult to wind the watch, but it does work. Setting the hour hands work fine, but the date set position leaves the crown very loose. I did a youtube video to show the watch repair people that worked on the watch because I was concerned about how loose the crown was. Their reply was well, if the crown doesn't fall off, you're good. Here is a link to that video.youtu.be/cIiiWX8_s3cIs this something that can be fixed? Maybe it needs the proper crown? My research:Because I'm not sure what calibre the watch is and I don't have the ability to take it apart to find out the case back number, I'm at a bit of a loss in finding the correct crown for it. I did see some crowns that looked like the one I had on this website: .ofrei/page_147.html Not that I want to sink more money into this wat

Accidental Rolex
This is how it started for me. I was 19 years old and in the U.S.Army stationed in Kassel Germany. The year was 1965. A friend of mine was previously assigned to the 82nd airborne. He had a beautiful watch he used to time his jumps from the aircraft. This watch had all kinds of buttons and knobs and I was really impressed. It was an Omega Sea Master. I owned literally nothing. Even the green uniform I wore belonged to the Army. I wanted one thing I could call my own. I saved my money for a few months. It's hard to save money when your pay is $127.00 a month. I drank about $100.00 a month in that Great German Beer. One Day I got on a train and headed for Frankfort. Arriving at the Post Exchange, I headed for the watch section and asked to see an Omega Sea Master. the sales Lady informed me they were all out of Omegas, but she said We have this. She handed me a watch with no buttons, no knobs, no stop watch, no nothing. However, It was a very nice looking watch. I asked what it, as I had
