TimeZone’s Michael Sandler Joins Tourneau
Tourneau, America's largest watch retailer, announced that Michael Sander will join their team as vice president of strategic planning and business development, a new position within the retailer's infrastructure. Geared at promoting new brand relationships and developing new opportunities, Sander's addition to the Tourneau executive team marks another step in the company's strategy to re-brand itself. Sandler brings a deep knowledge of the watch world to the 111 year old company, earned largely from his role as the General Manager of TimeZone. Sandler is respected by watch brands in the U.S. and Europe, and his industry experience will be paramount in driving critical company-wide initiatives. I am happy for the opportunity to join Tourneau at such a pivotal moment in the brand's history, said Sandler. It is an exciting time to be a part of a company which is recognized as an authority in the watch industry, and which continues to grow and re-brand itself to the desires of the moder
Three On Three: Comparing The Patek Philippe 5170G, The Vacheron Constantin Harmony Chronograph, And
There is something special about a hand-finished, manually wound, in-house chronograph. It is a category that houses so many of the timepieces to which so many of us aspire to own – and today we will compare three of the very best available in the world today. This original HODINKEE Three On Three pits heavyweight contenders from A. Lange & Söhne, Vacheron Constantin, and Patek Philippe against one another in several categories: design, finishing, wearability, and collectibility. The thing about this comparison is, quite simply, there is no wrong choice – we purposefully selected the finest manually wound chronographs we could think of – all priced similarly – to be able to highlight each watch's strengths and weakness, of which there are many.Have a look at our video first and then read on for the details of these three incredible timepieces. The History Of The In-House, Manually Wound Chronograph The first thing that one must underst
Transitional Models
I've started to become interested in Rolex's transitional models, specifically GMTs and the 16753. I think one of these would be a good complement to my 116610LN and 116300 silver stick. I hope this isn't too broad of a question, but in considering a purchase, what are the questions I should be asking? Thanks for any help.

16600 vs. 116600
I've been doing some poking around as I look to find the right Sea Dweller as my next watch (and by next I suppose I mean the moment I find it; I'm not exactly patient always).I'm noticing in the pre-owned market that the 16600 market is soft while the 116600 market is fairly strong. Aside from the steel vs. ceramic bezel, what is driving this big difference? I love the look of both watches, and it's not as though I plan on re-selling the watch anyway, but I'm still wondering why the 116600 seems to be in demand and the 16600 seems to be being avoided. This makes the prices for 116600's fairly reliable and consistent but it makes it very difficult to properly assess a 16600 to determine what is a fair price (they seem to sit here in the classifieds without ever moving really). What gives? Should I even be thinking about the price/demand differences in these watches or is there a clear reason to opt for the 116600 over the 16600?Thanks for helping!
