Welcome back to an original watches-dealer interview series, "My First Grail Watch." In this series, we ask prominent people in the watch industry about the first timepiece that they lusted after. Today, we're speaking with Peter Roberts, who is, well, is hard to pin down in a single sentence, in terms of his relation to the watch industry. He's been in it for four and a half decades, going through many brands in a many capacities. He's also taught horology (teaching some other names well-known to us), writes on watches, and recently created a new version of a watch he first built back in 1970. Can someone help me date my Speedy 3570.50 please?
I've recently acquired a very nice 1861-powered 3570.50 from TZ UK. It's a lovely example, but I was hoping to get an accurate year of manufacture. The serial is 7718**** - I've tried emailing Omega and have used their archive function on the website to no avail. Does anyone have any similar serial coded Speedys for reference/comparison (I'm guessing mid-2000s, but I'd really like to single it down to a year). TIA...

SkyDweller TT, which dial color?
I am thinking of adding a two-tone sky dweller to my collection. I really like the champagne as well as the white dials. But I am on the waiting list for a white Daytona and most of my other watches dials are dark thinking of white or champagne. I am a little drawn to the champagne one because it is a very unique color and would not be in my collection sense hopefully soon will be getting a white Daytona Please help me with the dial color choice, what do most people here prefer? Also would i be able to get any discount on a TT skyD or that’s less likely?Pictures would really help!Thank you

Because of this forum, I caught the 16710 bug like so many others. I decided to zero in on one with SELs and lug holes, and after much searching, was fortunate to come across a great deal on this beautiful K-serial. It's in great condition, but the bezel did have just a few marks on it. I went to Dallas RSC over lunch one day and they put on a new bezel (old one had a small dent that would make installing and removing an insert difficult) and new Pepsi bezel insert as well. I absolutely couldn't be happier, this watch is everything I thought it would be and more. I can completely see why many think this is one of the best references in the Rolex lineup.Hard to imagine this one coming off the wrist anytime soon.
