Vintage Speedy
Hey all. This isn't an official FS: post so I am filing it here. I got my hands on a 1975 Speedy Moonwatch. The piece is in good condition overall. The exception being that the chrono doesn't work. I'm not an expert so I can't open it up to look. Everything else works great and it seems to keep very good time. Any idea on what it would be worth given the condition? I'd prefer to be wearing a Moonwatch with a few less miles on it? Is my vintage piece (with chrono issues) an even trade for something 5 yrs old? Thanks all. Here is a pic. Incoming First Patek
Ok, so after much thought and deliberation. Much see-saw. many mind change. (many thanks to Takuya for dealing with my flip flopping and also to HL65 and Tom for their input)My first Patek is on its way and will arrive tomorrow. I pulled the trigger on a BNIB 5726/1a from trusted seller, great guy and friend Takuya aka Thanh Do. If you are looking to buy a watch you would be crazy not to check with him I will post pics tomorrow upon arrival. Some of you may know I was all over the place with watches. I was looking at 5164,5712,5780,AP Diver,Platona, etc etc. Finally I decided on these four watches for now:BLNR (classic rolex GMT beater), 5726/1a (iconic nautilus Patek annual calendar on bracelet), AP RG ROO Ceramic (precious metal, only RG I like, chrono, black watch) and the AP Jumbo 15202 (iconic RO time/date only with amazing RO bracelet and awesome movement and tapisserie dial). That 4some covers all the bases i wanted to hit after considering a hundred different combinations. The 5t
Dangerous9 Incomings
Before I start, be warned that this post might be very unhealthy for your bank accounts!Following the acquisition of my 737 in August this year, I started jonesing for another strap. The brown Teju lizard that John Glance at Dangerous9 crafted for me is a work of art so the logical thing to do was get in touch and see what else he could do. From the great feedback I had from you guys on the colour combinations of my Panerai OEM straps, particularly on my 689 and 737, I decided to go for another Teju lizard but this time in racing tan. Whist we have to be careful considering colours seen on a computer monitor (they can vary significantly between brands), I thought that the racing tan was the colour to go for; some of you said that the Panerai OEM JV gold took the eye away from the dials of the 689 and 737 and I could see where you were coming from. The racing tan therefore seemed perfect in that it was a similar shade to the JV but nowhere near as shouty.Back in late August and earl
