Chronograph modules
Started reading about the Tudor heritage chrono and was surprised it was dupraz module attached to a base ETA movement - got me interested and started looking around the web for more information. Anyway, just to share this link from ABTW. .ablogtowatch/inside-d...vement-module/As we know, AP ROOs have attached DD chrono modules as well, and I'm first in line if they ever come up with an integrated chrono movement (whether in the ROC or ROO line.) have a good weekend!
ADVICE NEEDED PLEASE - Daytona and Royal Oak
Firstly, please know that I am not a habitual flipper....more of a keeper. I have a TT Sub, BLNR, Milgauss GV, 216570, and a WG DD President.I bought a new SS Daytona last Christmas which I am sorry to say I have simply not fallen in love with. It will definitely be leaving my collection.I have an offer of 8,250 from a shop here in France, which I am prepared to accept. The shop has a 41mm AP Royal Oak SS 15400 that was new in May 2013, full set, virtually un-worn. His asking price is 10,600.....so I'm guessing I could do the trade for my Daytona and around 2,000. There is a pic of the actual watch below. I am a Rolex man, and am new to AP.I will value my fellow TRFers advice and opinions on this possible trade....I am going to the shop tomorrow.Thank you one and all.
Setting Aerospacepe times
Just purchased a new Aerospace Evo from an AD. It appears no matter how fast I move the crown I can only change the times by minutes, not hours.Any ideas? Thanks!
5205 R Black or White dial
Just picked up a 5205 R Black. Still in the box unopened. Love the model, found a great deal, just not sure the black dial is the way to go. I think the black face is more formal. I am thinking about the desirability going forward. Is the black just a trend and is the white the way to go for desirability and potential having the right pieceThoughts?
Disappointed?
Ok, so I'm seeing a lot of dissapointing on this forum concerning the new releases in Basel. But, really, I don't understand it. I mean, what do you expect? Imho, Rolex is a company with products wich are evolving slowly. That's what I appreciate about them. In our 'throw-away/everything is replacable-society' they make an iconic/beyond life-time item. Sometimes it takes time to appreciate. Sometimes they are an instant hit. But they allready made some truly exceptional timepieces with an iconic design. What do you want? That they change rapidly? A new iconic model every baselworld? Are we victim of the Hyper-capitalistic world that our hunger for new things, new impulses is never satisfied? They meet our demand, many of us asked for a steel pepsi GMT. Well it's there, and it's beautiful. It has a beautiful jubilee bracelet. Altough i do prefer an Oyster too. But when I see the comments on this forum, i picture myself a bunch of spoiled children!Let's realize that we are damn lucky to be
