Panerai Luminor 1950 10 Days GMT Ceramica
The case on the new Luminor 1950 10 Days GMT Ceramica is made of zirconium oxide ceramic, a very hard material that is resistant to corrosion and scratching. The case is formed using an isostatic pressure process that produces a single block ready for milling. The 44mm case requires over 60 operations to complete. The screw-down back is titanium with a sapphire window opening onto the P.2003 automatic movement. The movement – designed and manufactured in-house by Officine Panerai – offers a 10 day power reserve, the status of which is displayed via a linear display on the trademark sandwich dial. This reference PAM00335 will be produced in a limited series of 500 pieces with a European MSRP of 12,900 euros. Thing to Consider Before Buying a Pre-Owned AP!!!
I hope this can become a sticky on the AP Forum as I believe a lot of people considering buying a pre-owned AP would benefit from the advice I am giving out.Always keep in mind the following when making a purchase of a pre-owned AP. Especially when buying a Royal Oak or a Royal Oak Offshore. 1. If you own a vintage AP and don't know the service history on the watch do not send it in for service at AP unless it stops running. Don't let an independent watchmaker work on a vintage AP no matter what. The money you save today, you'll have to pay it tomorrow.2. If you buy a pre-owned modern AP RO or ROO try to get one that is not very old (F series and up) ideally with some service history and in overall great shape. Don't by a beater even if it's a good deal! You'll pay the difference afterwards.3. If you buy a 5402 be very careful with the crown and avoid using the quick-set calendar advance feature that comes with cal. 2121. (While the watch doesn't have a date setting crown position, you

44mm ROO advice
Please be easy as I'm not a ROO owner (yet) but have a few Q's1: With the rubber strap and ceramic bezel taking out the most prone areas to scratch, how bad is the case at picking up marks given its size? 2: What colour rubber straps are available for the 44mm, I've seen blue, black, white and grey. Due to this I'm assuming the bright colours are just for the 42mm's as the strap is from the divers?!3: What strap changing tool do you use, I've seen a few use the genuine AP one but been unable to find any, the other is the one offered by AP bands 4: With strap changes is it best to remove the strap from the plots or remove the strap with the plots in place (I've seen some straps sold with plots fitted)5: How easy are buckle changing and cost depending would it be easier to buy a couple of extra tang buckles and leave them on each strap?Think thats it for now
