New Breil Mediterraneo Watch Adds Dash Of Deck Wood Style, Really
Breil Milano is one of the few "fashion watch" brands that I take a keen interest in. The Italian watch designer has been slowly creeping their way upmarket with some really appealing designs. The newest model to watch my attention is the Mediterraneo watch with the inset strips of wood. Note that not all Mediterraneo watches have the wood insets. The purpose of this is to recall the style of yachts and boats, in the Mediterranean that is. I have to say the nautical suggestion is well done. This watch evokes a boating feel, not simply a diving feel. And that really makes it different. Most other boating watches are too much like diving watches to me, and while diving watches are a passion I have, I'd like more variety. With the Mediterraneo, Breil has succeeded in creating a nice looking, but unimposing watch that suggests luxury. As I mentioned before, this is not a diving watch, but the dial does suggest that fact to a degree. The hands and number indicators are similar to what one wo
Buying 15400 in UK
Hey all,Currently in the UK, about to travel back to the states. I have the opportunity to pick up the 15400 for 14300, and then get the tax back. Ultimately it comes out to just a hair under $16,000. However, looking at DavidSW, I see he has the 15400 for just under $14,000. Based on current Rolex prices, they're significantly cheaper over here but it seems that the same is not true for APs. Am I missing something here? Should I just go with DavidSW or is there some reason that getting the warranty and buying from an AD is that much better? Thanks!
New Addition has landed.....Skyfall
A quick shot with the iPhone. While not a Bond junkie, I saw this and couldn't resist it. Just the right bit of understatement.
3 years and counting
No it's not the service time on a Patek watch I have a friend of mine, the only one really interested in watches, normal he sells them, who told me the other day that he has an order at a patek AD, didn't say which one, for a 5711 that he passed 3 years ago, he celebrated the birthday the other day by calling the AD who told him Jerome you're still on the list don't worry, you're arriving at the top soon, with Patek soon can mean 6, 12, 18 months, no one knows, Patek time is like another dimension, something unknown and impossible to understand to us simple mortalsThat's really crazy, when I went to the Paris salon to pass an order for the 5712 they wouldn't even take it, said the waiting list was too huge, and not only on 5711/5711/5167, on all SS models, there is not one SS Nautilus or 5167 on which they take orders, except the 5164, which was basically the only one I was able to try but even if it's very nice it wouldn't be a keeper for me, the 5712 is and I hope the 5167R will b
I fancy a different kind of Panerai
When Mrs Van D is away, a naughty Ruud will play. I would love one of these on my desk, I mean who wouldn’t? An absolute complete, utter waste of money but, and it’s a huge but with a capital B, they’ve just had a price adjustment. Yep, against the current trend of increases, these babies have dropped by about 40% and they’re down to S$4,300 (2,350 US$3,170). Alas, Mrs Van D has put the blockers on a purchase. If she comes out to Singapore in four weeks and finds one of these in the house then she’ll pull down my Alan’s and grab my Jacob’s and drag them over my head! The California dial is my favourite (651, I think). So, worth the risk?
