My First Grail Watch: Carlos Rosillo
Welcome back to an original watches-dealer feature, "My First Grail Watch." In this series, we ask prominent people in the watch industry about the first timepiece that they lusted after. Today, we are?talking with one of the co-founders of Bell & Ross, Carlos Rosillo. Read on to learn about the family watch that inspired (and inspires) him.watches-dealer (ABTW): Who are you and what is your relationship to the watch industry?Carlos Rosillo: My name is Carlos Rosillo and I am the co-founder and CEO of Bell & Ross.ABTW:?Many people define a grail watch differently - how do you see them?Carlos Rosillo: For me, the grail watch is the one that above all wakes up emotions. Besides the value of the materials and the craftsmanship, this kind of timepiece has to hold inside a high emotional weight. It's the case for an inherited watch or an exceptional timepiece.ABTW:?Given that definition, what was your first grail watch, and what did you like about it?Carlos Rosillo: The first one wa
Introducing: The New Vacheron Constantin Overseas Chronograph, Now With In-House Caliber 5200
Big news! Vacheron Constantin has released a new Overseas model using a new in-house made automatic movement, the caliber 5200. This is big statement for Vacheron Constantin – the Overseas chronograph has traditionally used a modified movement, the caliber 1137, which is based on the F. Piguet 1185. This elevates the Overseas into a whole new realm – let's have a look. 1 OF 3 The new automatic caliber 5200 movement took five years to develop, and is comprised of 263 different components, including a column wheel coordinating the chronograph start-stop-reset functions and a vertical coupling clutch that allows for a smoother start for the chronograph hand. Additionally, the column wheel features a screw in the form of the Maltese cross, a signature for the brand. 2 OF 3 The 42.5 mm watch is available in stainless steel (comes with three interchangeable bracelets, rubber, and/or leather straps) or 18k pink gold (available with a leather or rubb
Video of Aquanaut Chrono
Nice vid, esp if someone can translate. Dial looks the same anthracite colour and the orange strap is really orange.https://.youtube/watch?v=zRGuW5Esgm8&app=desktop
Aquanaut choice, 5167/1A or 5164A ?
I know there have been several threads on this, so apologies for yet another. It's more to bring all the relevant facts into one place for me.I have a 5711 blue bought new from my local dealer last August (a week before the price rise, which surprised me!). I now have the option of either a 5167/1A or 5164A for my 2nd Patek. I also own several Rolex, including Hulk, SD, Explorer and BLNR GMT. As I see it:5167/1A+ves: choice of bracelet or rubber, cleaner dial, ?10k cheaper, cheaper servicing, slimmer on the wrist-ves: identical case and movement to the 5711 (I think), some say the date breaks up the dial, some say less balanced case (as no pushers on left)5164/A+ves: different & more complex movement, arguably more balance dial and case, GMT function if needed, no date window (to break up dial), globe sub dial adds a nice touch but could be busy, slightly beefier case giving more heft on wrist-ves: ?10k more (alot for a GMT function), option of rubber only, more expensi
BLNR with Oyster Flex bracelet
Apologies if this has already been posted. AD said that he could get an Oyster Flex bracelet for my BLNR, I wondered if anyone had tried this and do you have a picture?
