Richard Mille’s New Tourbillon and Automatic
You may want to head back to school for a Ph.D in material science before reading any further. Describing his new Aerodyne Tourbillon, Richard Mille says “Orthorhombic titanium aluminides are new group of alloys, developed from the main class of titanium aluminides, which possess a specific crystalline molecular structure ordered on the orthorhombic phase of Ti2AlNb. Its use within a honeycombed geometrical pattern was originally the subject of research by NASA for application as a core material of supersonic aircraft wings, where resistance to extremely high temperatures and torsion is paramount…”Mille continues “The alloy in this honeycombed form has unparalleled stiffness, a low thermal expansion coefficient and exceptional torsion resistance. The actual shape of the baseplate itself as seen from the dial side resembles the trench-like V-shaped profile of a flying wing aircraft where the wing tips are positioned higher than the central body of the aircraft it
new addition - Forged carbon 44mm AP
For a long time I had been looking at Audemars's collection online but never had a chance to try one on. About a month ago I bought my first AP Volcano without trying it on, and really fast I fell in love with Offshores. I knew I will add another one very quick but couldn't decide on which one to add. There are so many nice ones, Bumblebee, Diver, SS 44mm, RG 44mm and FC 44mm. I flew to Vegas last weekend to try new Chronographs and finally made my choice - Forged Carbon. I have WG, RG, YG, SS, bronze, titanium, composite, ceramic pieces in my collection so I thought I must add Forged Carbon piece next. Especially thanks to Phil and Thomas for helping me make my decision. Not sure how many Forged Carbon lovers are here on forum, but you must see it and try it to really appreciate it. Here are some pictures of my new baby
Perpetual calendar watches; 3940 vs 5140 vs 5327
All, I am interested to hear your thoughts on these pieces and their relative attractiveness and usability on a flat 6.75 inch wrist. It's always good to hear from real owners also! Thank you!
Can't decide...
I understand they're both very different watch but I only want to get one. I like both in their own special ways. Which one would you chose and why? Here are pictures of me trying on both out today. PP 5726AJLC Duometre
5726/1A discount?
I was just offered a new still-in-plastic 5726/1A - the only one my AD will get this year - and I passed on it!! This is a watch on my top five list. Am I correct that RRP is $47,600 for the 5726/1A? Has anyone managed to get a discount on one?
