Anyone Had PO Polished/Repaired?
Any PO owner experience a accidental drop incident and then had the victimized watch repaired by an authorized Omega service center? Had my mishap when a wasp gave me a painful sting on the palm of my left hand -- whipped my arm about in response to the sting and the watch went flying. Abraded scratches on the metal band and screw-down crown. There not bad and should polish out. I'd love to see some examples of re-polishing and repair. Please make me feel better. Thanks, Scott
Patek 5167A Clarification Needed
Hello all-I'm currently going back and forth between purchasing this watch. There are 2 questions that keep coming up in my head and I've tried looking all over but end up a little more confused the deeper I dig.1. I don't have any other watches so this would be it. Would the 5167 stand up to the daily wear and tear of other 'dive' watches like the Sub C? I feel like there are 2 camps, one says that this would be a great daily full time watch. The other says, it is too delicate and wouldn't be able to take 'normal' everyday use.Can anyone whose owned this watch shed some light on this?2. I've heard that this model has had a bad rap with winding issues and not keeping time that great. Has anyone experienced this? Thanks again for the help!
A very Pepsi everyday carry...
I had no idea my everyday carry was this much Pepsi until I put it all down on my work desk this morning:I've carried fountain pens with those two colors of ink at work every day for years now, and it never occurred to me that they are Pepsi-themed until today!
Any speculations on how the sunburst dials will age?
Original black Rolex dials tend to fade after decades of wear (exposure to sun). Some even crack or develop an orange/brown hue. Any thoughts on how the sunburst dials will age? Is there enough of whatever they have going on that reflects light so well to continue that brilliance even with some significant age? Any chemists out there?
Losing 5 seconds a day
Hello there. I recently joined the Rolex club. A few months back I purchased a DJ41 from David SW for my 40th. I love the watch and was very pleased with the purchasing process.3 months later, and I'm noticing that my watch is losing 5 seconds a day. It's not a big deal by any means, but I know that Rolex is certified to +2/-2 seconds. The watch is under warranty, and the card has my name on it. I was wondering if you think it's worth bringing to the RSC? Again, I don't feel like the time loss is a big deal, but the watch was a major purchase, and I want it to perform at its best.Just wondering what the RolexForum community thinks. Thanks!
