Speedmaster Clasp
I've got a Speedy Pro 3572.50 which I bought pre-owned. I sent an email with the serial number to Omega to get more information but they could not tell me what the year of manufacture was (which I found strange). The stainless steel bracelet has a clasp without the push button release, but with a friction release. Anyone know when Omega switched over to the two button release clasp on the Pro?
324 SC movement issue - question
A few times in the past month my watch with the 324 SC movement has stopped around 11:45PM, despite having been worn all day, as though the movement doesn't have enough power to get over the hump of changing the date. After it stops, even after I wind it manually, the watch stops a few minutes or seconds later, short of midnight. If I reset the time to after the date change, the watch runs perfectly normally again. Does anyone know what is causing this? Does this just mean it needs a normal servicing? This used to happen once every few months and is now happening once a week or so. Most days it still works perfectly. The watch is worn at least 10 hours per day.
Patek Philippe Geneva Salon
There have been some great write ups and pictures on thevSalon by both Ben and Andy so instead of rehashing the same old stuff, with the same pictures I just tried to fill in some gaps and maybe cover a bit about why I was there. The Salon is certainly impressive and I think could be slightly intimidating to a person wandering off the street. It was completely renovated in 2006 using craftsmen to restore the interior as close to the original as possible. Leather embossed walls, crystal chandeliers as found in Versailles and a heavy influence from the Napoleon 111, gives a sense of history. Whilst the building is 6 stories I was restricted to the ground floor (where the sales staff and watches are displayed), the first floor where the minute repeaters are kept (where the watchmaker is present) and then the 3rd floor where they have the boardroom, dining room and facilities for product launches etc. They moved to this building in 1891 which I understand was previously owned by Tiffanys w
Today is the day....the wait is over.

This is a First
Well it was a first for me anyways. It came in a dark brown plastic wrapper and it was delivered just today. It was my first issue of the Patek Philippe The International Magazine.Looks like I've got some reading to do.Oh, the last page says that theree will be a new portion on the website dedicated to owners this fall. It will be located at: patek/owners.
