Hands-On: With The Bremont Victory - An 18th Century Warship on Your Wrist (Video & Live Pics)
While visiting Bremont's new London boutique a few weeks ago, we were able to go hands-on with their Victory watch. More than just named after the famous warship, the Bremont Victory actually contains wood and metal from the ship itself, which, if you didn't know, was Lord Nelson's flagship. All in all, it's a cool chronograph with serious historical nods. It's also Bremont's first truly complicated watch. 2 OF 17 Picking up the Bremont Victory, you might not immediately notice the historical bits of the watch. The dial is definitely vintage, nay, ANTIQUE inspired, though rather clean. The chronograph minutes and hours registers are at 12 and 6 o'clock respectively, and at 3 and 9 o'clock are retrograde indicators for the date and running seconds. The seconds retrograde only goes to 30, which is slightly odd - because you have no way of knowing whether you're looking at the first 30 seconds, or the second, though it is very cool to wa

Vintage Seamaster Question
I just recently received a vintage Seamaster from my grandfathers estate. Are these older Seamasters water proof ie. can you get them wet or are they ok to swim with? It's a 1966 model, I believe. Any input would be appreciated.

Current Rolex and keeping up with inflation.
Gents (and Ladies),We all know Rolex is not necessarily an investment. But does it beat or keep up with inflation? Obviously, this is a broad question and there are endless models ranging from vintage to current models. I wanted to get a sense when one buys a Rolex, does one feel that with time they will at least get back what they paid for the watch and more?I feel this is more applicable in current times with people referring to the stock market as an 'asset bubble' and bonds and savings accounts offering meek returns. It has been advised to keep precious metals (ie. gold, silver) in the range of 5-10% n their portfolio. Would jewlery such as a Rolex be a worthwhile 'investment' as a storehouse of wealth?Thanks in advance.

Sorry if you're being annoyed by these posts, I just appreciate the opinions of others when making these decisions Down to two. 16570 M serial with a 3186 movement and engraved rehaut (doesn't include warranty card but has box and booklets)($5500 Canadian shipped)Or 116400 V series. Black dial clear crystal. Has a small scratch on crystal at 5 o clock (purely cosmetic) but is full kit and overall good condition. ($6000 Canada FtF)Love both of these watches equally.
