Image Of A Watch Czar: Swatch Group's Nicolas Hayek With His Wares
Big year for Swatch Group AG, the Swiss giant has reporting above average profits and double-digit growth across the board. Swatch Group owns the watch movement maker ETA, along with a number of brands including Omega, Breguet, Longines, and Glashutte Original. Last year's profits hovered over $5 billion, certainly amazing given the market and volume of watches produced. Despite increases in material and production costs, Swatch Group continues to expand, open new facilities, and push forward into new markets. Of course, innovation and product design are at the heart of its success, which makes one wonder why American auto makers have not followed suit when considering how to save themselves.Chairman of Swatch Group, Nicolas Hayek, sits high and proud over the many brands and applications of the Swatch Group. He can be attributed with revitalizing the company, and assisting to bring back the mechanical watch to its place of prominence. Being a family man, Nicolas Hayek has brought his
Send watch in to apsc or not
I have a ROO 44 SS. my warranty is about to expire. Watch has never had the B1 service, so my question is should I sent it in for B1 so the watch gets a look over before warranty expires, or do I keep wearing it until I have an issue and then just pay for the service? I love this watch and can't see being without it for a month. Thanks in advance.
Movin' on Up...
Bought the RG Rubberclad in 2011 and loved it and wore it for 2.5 years.Recently sold it and moved on up to the 44mm RG ROO Novelty.I think its going to take winning the lottery to make the final leap to the ultimate AP RG ROO...the tourbillon!!!Wrist shot and a pic with its two younger brothers below...
Brushing Titanium PCLs? (Speedmaster 57)
Hi all,After seeing it in person, the Speedmaster 57 (Titanium on Titanium) is a really beautiful watch. As you know, the center links of the Titanium bracelet are polished, just like the Stainless Steel version. Right now, I like the PCLs, but I was wondering if I wanted to in the future, one could brush the center links to match the brushed look of the outer links.I've read that an AD could do that fairly easily on a Speedmaster 57 stainless steel bracelet, but I'm wondering if the same is true for a Titanium bracelet or would it be a more difficult (or possibly easier?) job because of the different metal characteristics. Any info would be appreciated.Thanks.
