A. Lange & Sohne Grande Lange 1 Luminous Watch
It is the heat of the night, and you are having an expensive watch wearing worthy good time. You go to look are your luxury timepiece in the dim lighting on the patio of that bar you like, and low and behold those lustrous gold holds show no luster in the dark. Time to rethink your evening timepiece selection, or you could instead seek out the relatively few high-luxury watches with luminant applied to them. While not a big deal for a Seiko, a lume covered German A. Lange & Sohne is a rarity. Here is their newest one, called the Grande Lange 1 Luminous. Larger Grande Lange 1 case (as opposed to the smaller standard Lange 1). Black dial, and just the right shade of retro green for the richly applied lume that makes up the hour markers and is all over the hands. A cool sporty Lange watch. Though, to actually refer to it as a sport watch, your idea of sports involves playing?? lawn croquet at night.Read more about the Grande Lange 1 Luminous watch in my article about it over at Haute
Impossible to get a 5711 from an AD?
OK, I need some help with this: I'd like to purchase a 5711 with a blue dial but I don't see how this is possible unless I want pay considerably higher than retail.Tell me if I'm wrong but it seems like every watch that I see on TRF or elsewhere has been purchased from an AD (at an inflated cost) and then is offered for sale at an even higher price. I don't blame the grey market dealers for wanting to make a profit so I'll have to put the blame on the ADs who take delivery of these watches and, despite legitimate cash-in-hand clients who have been on waiting lists for years, turn around and sell them at a higher profit than they would net from selling to regular people. I'm sure that Patek Philippe doesn't like this and neither do I. I realize I'm whining here but that's the way I see it. Agree or disagree?
Still on the Honeymoon
Just wanted to share some pic of my DayDate 40. This watch is getting a majority of wrist time IMG_2580.JPGIMG_2644.JPGIMG_2685.JPGIMG_2831.JPGIMG_2851.JPGSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
How water resistant is the GMT Master II
Is anyone aware of any aftermarket testing on the GMT IIc maxi-case. I know it is only officially rated to 100m, but with the trip lock crown I am guessing it is much better. Has anyone tested this in a chamber to see how low it will go?
My time has come..
Gents, After years of waiting, reading and saving - first a downpayment for an apartment and now a DW (A Rolex of course)I started looking at the 116610LN, then a vintage 1601 and finally the 214270 - Cant really decided, and was hoping for a recommendation for a first Rolex. Cant wait to start my journey! Any input would be highly appriciatedCheers and enjoy the weekend!
