Watches NEWS
Too good an offer to refuse?
Well I am watch shopping again and recently on a trip to Singapore to an AP AD was lucky to find they had the blue 15400 as well as the black and white models as well. I then asked them about possible gifts they can throw in as I assume they couldn't give discounts. Then the sales person proceeded to tell me they can give me a discount, not just on the black/white models but also on the blue model as well. This really took me by surprise, as I know the blue one is boutique only and they are notorious across the brands to not being able to offer a discount. Is this just a one-off - have other people been offered this as well? Or is it a sign that the luxury watch market is going soft? As our learned friend archieluxury is saying recently. Btw the discount offered was 10% on black/white and 5% on the blue
Is there a Planet Ocean with a blue dial?
Hi, was looking for a submariner until I came across Omega and what seems like terrific value compared to a Rolex. I like coaxial escapement for the low maintenance and I also like the appearance of a blue dial. That would lead me to the standard Seamaster Professional 2220.80, but I also like the look of the Planet Ocean. I'm just not a fan of the orange bezel or the standard black and white dial. It seems, however, that I've seen some pictures of what are supposed to be PO's with blue dials, which looks really good to me. Did Omega ever make a blue dial PO? Are they fakes, or limited editions from the past? Please let me know . . .
Rolex accuracy
I've got two Rolex which I really like, a V-serial Submariner 16610 from 2009 and a 2016 Oyster Perpetual 116000.Although the 16610 is an older 'Red Seal' and the newer 116000 a 'Green Seal' both have had similar accuracy of around +/-1 second per day (averaged over a week) out of the box - which is fantastic.I was just wondering what your Rolex manages - and if there is any real difference between Red and Green?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Sd 116600
I am the very happy owner of the SeaDweller 116600 and am now looking for my second Rolex-I love these watches! I'm interested in your opinions on what you all think about my choices in adding to the collection. I have some great choices that I want, but your perspective and experience is appreciated. My choices are all over the place: DateJust 36 w black dial, fluted bezel, jubilee bracelet; Milgauss black dial, green crystal, Explorer I newer version, or Airking 40mm. All are new and unworn. What do you think is the best pairing for the SeaDweller? Sorry for the mundane what should I get question, but they all sing to me and it's a LOT of territory to cover there!
Best place to get 2017 Red Sea dweller
Hi there,Been looking around London today for the new sea-dweller and getting the usual exasperated gasps when asking about it. Told it's a 7 year waiting list etc. I was told the same with the batman but managed to get one after 8 months of constant digging. My question is, does anyone know if they are more readily available anywhere else in the world? Preferably Europe. Getting a SS sport model in the uk is painful.
