Hands-on with Max Bill Watches by Junghans
Max Bill was a renowned Swiss designer, graphic artist, and architect who is remembered, first and foremost, for his highly influential body of work. Though he studied at the Bauhaus school in Dessau, Germany, it would be a disservice to simply call him a student of the Bauhaus. Outspoken and brash, Bill expressed his distaste for shallow design; in fact, he often blamed American designers for the rise of what he called the "commodity aesthetic." But he also understood the fine balance between form and function, often citing the significance of beauty in his designs. He dedicated most of his career to developing long-lasting forms, blending style and utility to create work that was, in many ways, the spiritual successor to the Bauhaus movement. In 1956, Max Bill began a collaboration that would cement his name in the world of horology. Junghans, a German watch company founded in 1871, approached Bill to design a set of watches and clocks for the brand. Fascinated by time, Bill accepted

Speedmaster Pro VS. FOIS
Before I get into it, I know there have been multiple threads on this comparison. My reasoning may be a little different.. Originally I wanted a Speedmaster Professional as my one and only watch, but ended up buying an 114060 Submariner. I want to add a second watch just to switch things up and a Speedmaster is likely going to happen as a 30th birthday gift to myself. I feel like the First Omega In Space can dress up a little more easily than the Pro. Whichever I choose will be on a leather strap, I'll probably end up with a black and brown strap as well as either a nato or canvas/fabric option to dress it down.Does anyone have any reason I should choose the professional over the fois, other than the classic/hesalite angle? Keep in mind, I want something that compliments my Sub, and it will 100% be on leather (reason I didn't buy the speedmaster pro in the first place was that I couldn't get a proper fit with the limited adjustment on the bracelet) and this will be my dressier piece. A very positive story about Omega Service Center
After deciding to take my two month old 39.2mm Railmaster off the market and keep it, I began trying to take some real close up photos of it without getting all the reflection off the domed sapphire crystal. Well, while doing so this past Thursday, I noticed something on the right side of the minute hand. I took it out in direct sunlight to get a better look and got a pinpoint reflection off of the something. I then got my 10x loupe and sure enough there was some kind of debris or gunk on the right hand side of the hand (I think it was Luminova left on the side of the hand when they finished it off at the factory). I had never noticed it until then, but I knew that knowing that it's there was going to bug me.I live about 45 minutes away from the Omega Service Center in Los Angeles, but I had read so many negative things about Omega Service Centers on this forum (long waits, etc.) I was hesitant to take it in. However, I have two other Omegas plus my Rolex to wear so I figured I co
