For the new timepieces in its re-tooled Ingenieur collection, IWC Shaffhausen wanted a direct connection to Formula One auto racing, in both the watches’ design and in the materials used to make them. Hence the use of carbon fiber, high-tech ceramics, and, for two of its new models, titanium.Like all of the new IWC Ingenieur watches, launched at this year’s SIHH watch fair in Geneva, the design and construction of the Ingenieur Double Chronograph Titanium and Ingenieur Dual Time Titanium are influenced by IWC’s partnership with the Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One racing team. The distinctive bezels feature five screws, instead of the more traditional bores, which secure the bezels firmly to the titanium cases. Visit to Wempe (AD) in NYC....
I was in NYC today on 5th Ave and stopped in at the Wempe/Rolex AD. They carry other watch brands suck as Cartier, Patek, IWC, etc. A beautiful store, lots of sales help and a glass of champagne if you want it!They have a dedicated Rolex Boutique. I have never seen so many Rolex watches in a store. The only SS sport models were 1 Milguass (blue dial) and 1 AirKing, that was it in SS. In PM I remember a Yachmaster II, and perhaps one or two others, yes a 116710BLRO in the window. If you want a DJ, they have tons of womens and mens sizes. Many open spaces on the display for watches sold and not replenished. I did not ask about when they would get a replenishment because I did not want to hear the sales BS.I was able to pick up another copy of the Rolex Magazine, Issue 7.
