Maurice de Mauriac Summer 2011 Chronograph Modern Watches
Here is a little watch porn for you in the form of two new Maurice de Mauriac Chronograph Modern watch styles. I have covered the Chronograph Modern watches before but Maurice de Mauriac keeps coming out with upgrades and new styles. The first one here is a version of the Le Mans 53 in black with a case fitted alligator strap - really slick. Next is a stealthier version of the Chronograph Modern with a blue chronograph seconds hand and a cool new woven leather strap - much as was done by Bedat & Co.The Chronograph Modern models come in a variety of styles and sizes that are 39, 42, or 45mm wide. Part of the point of getting a Maurice de Mauriac watch is the customization involved and, ideally, you visit them in Z??rich to do so. Prices for these models are 3,650 Swiss Francs for the Le Mans version and 3,950 Swiss Francs for the version with the woven leather strap.
the new Jaeger-LeCoultre watch is offered in a limited edition of 75 pieces
Protecting the display is a top quality sapphire crystal. The same glass is employed in manufacturing of the case-back. The final touch is provided by an alligator leather strap, which joins to an 18-carat white gold pin buckle.A clever blend of advanced technology and irresistible aesthetic appeal, the new Jaeger-LeCoultre watch is offered in a limited edition of 75 pieces.
A Week On The Wrist: The TAG Heuer Carrera 1887 41mm Chronograph
Few watches have as storied a history as the Carrera, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year alongside the Rolex Daytona. While the Carrera has definitely gone through many revisions over the years, the same DNA is still there from the beginning. We decided to take the current Carrera, housing TAG Heuer's Calibre 1887 movement, for a spin, and here we give you a look at the birth of Carrera, the intricacies of the Calibre 1887 movement, and what is was like to wear this modern Carrera for a week. The Birth Of The Carrera 1 OF 40 The Carrera 1887 The Heuer Carrera was first launched in 1963, though for decades it was believed to have not been unveiled until 1964. This was long before sport chronograph watches had any mainstream popularity in the United States (and it took the Viceroy Autavia to turn this around in 1972), and Heuer was mainly known as a producer of stopwatches for race car drivers. The Carrera was originally intended as a tool
My first Patek
Hi all. This is my first post to the Forum (I am active on VRF).I just got my first Patek - a white gold 3445 Calatrava. I'm really excited, as I had never considered an auto/date model, but I love the dimensions of this watch. It come from a local estate and I believe that they were the original purchasers. It came on, what I think may be a rare factory 18k brick bracelet. I've ordered Archive papers and am curious to see if the bracelet is mentioned.Any information on the bracelet would be much appreciated. Thanks,Chris
5711... This or that
So I'm in a spot here. I have a 5167 currently and the 5711 blue is arriving next week. I've been stoked for a while to get this but now that it's within reach I'm wondering if I will be content with it ? I don't want to purchase and then not like it in a month. At the same time, that feeling of owing a WG Sub has returned. Anyone that has owned both or does own both please advise what your thoughts on owning a 5711 blue or WG Sub. Obviously the weight difference is night and day but with the glide lock hopefully won't be a huge issue. I'm definitely keeping the 5167 either way.
