Dzmitry Samal Watches In Concrete
Urban dwellers looking for an interesting new timepiece design may very well be taken by this fresh collection from Dzmitry Samal. The former car designer now has a line of timepieces and eye wear. His unique designs mirror dual influences from big city life and pop art culture. Each of these aesthetics is richly represented in the new watch collection which have the very first timepieces I have seen with actual concrete cases.According to Dzmitry Samal, the cases involve a patented new process with specially machined and polished concrete. Dzmitry Samal intentionally chose this "megalopolis inspired" material given its ubiquitous presence in city life. The concrete cases come in two forms and are cut into interesting shapes. The inner watch cases are in steel. Both cases are 42mm wide and attached to them are rubber straps. While Dzmitry Samal is French, the watches are said to be Swiss made. He does not claim that concrete is inherently a luxury material. He does however feel that the

The Watch I Wore The Most In 2014, By Every Single Member Of The HODINKEE Team
Members of the HODINKEE team are often asked about our personal watch buying and wearing habits. That's understandable – we spend our days around incredible watches, both old and new, and most of us have dedicated not only our careers but also our lives to understanding and appreciating these timepieces. This year, we continue our annual tradition of sharing our watch-wearing habits of the past 12 months. We asked every member of the HODINKEE team, from Kelly, to Blake, to Eric and Will, to Felix and Jason, to Evald, to Paul, to Ben and John Mayer, which watch, out of all the watches they've worn in 2014, they spent the most time with. The answers will tell you a lot about who we all are as watch lovers. Normal AD behaviour?
So I've decided on my next Rolex, a GMT BLNR.I don't want to pay a premium for a pre-owned, so I went into my local AD (in the UK) today with a view to put my name on a list and curl up for a long sleep until I get the call.So anyway, I went in and enquired, making it clear I'm fully aware of the waiting list and the demand, only to be told they are no longer taking names as the list is full!I didn't quite know what to say, until I was very quickly offered a pre owned one for weeeellll over MRSP. I swiftly declined. So, it's left me a bit disappointed really, going from thinking that I will get one eventually, to being told there's no way of me actually ever getting one through an AD, or this one at least. I plan on doing some ringing around tomorrow, I'm not holding my breath though. Any tips?Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
