Chopard L.U.C XPS Poin?on de Genve Watch Has Personality
When you create a limited edition watch of just 25 pieces in platinum you are basically creating a perfect "my timepiece is still cooler than yours" watch. Chopard's L.U.C XPS is a simple dress watch, but it is one of my favs, and in addition to having a sexy design it has a lot of horological bragging rights. Now that the piece has the Geneva Seal on it - that new tougher to get Geneva Seal - any watchianado can say, "screw your AP, this guy here was built in the canton of Geneva - and according to some prissy Swiss official, it has superlative bridge polishing. Shit, that type of polishing is extra expensive around here."The benefits of the Seal of Geneva (ahem, "Poin?on de Genve") are obvious to people like me, and perhaps you, but I just realized how utterly esoteric the concept would be to most people. Imagine a salesperson trying to explain it to some average Rolex buyer at a shopping mall. Awkward hilarity would ensue. Brands like Omega have sort of figured it out when they thr
AP ROO Novelty in Black Ceramic 26402CE
Dear all AP lovers,Today was a great day for me, because I am the proud new owner of a BNIB AP ROO BLACK CERAMIC 26402CE. This is such a beautiful piece and compliments his younger sibling in the collection, the AP ROO STAINLESS STEEL 26400SO so well. It took me a while to decide, but now I actually wonder why I hesitated at first. Perhaps because I already own the SO or maybe because I was actually waiting on the AP ROO WHITE CERAMIC 26402CB, but the availability at my preferred AD has been postponed till the end of 2014 / beginning of 2015.So, everything happens for a reason and this must have happened like this. And hopefully soon I will be able to complete my AP ROO collection, but something tells me that is just the beginning of a long and beautiful relationship with AP.Aldino
Patek making life difficult
Guys,It seems to me that enjoying and collecting Patek watches is tough at this point in time. Many of the hot references are almost like seeking unobtainium. I am only thinking of the current references. The 5524 and 5711 blue dial are going for over list. The 5930 is seldom found (although it is in it's infancy). Nautilus's are tougher than ever to source. All this frustration is painful and yet in the end it really helps all of us protect our so called investment. (I struggle calling a watch an investment).Love them or hate them, Patek and their AD's do a good job protecting their brand yet I still find them so frustrating to predict and work with. Perhaps this varies depending upon where you live. I am thrilled I have a 5711 and empathize with those wanting one. Here is where I will get bashed - but for me I do think they should limit the availability on those who call the 5711 and 5167 as entry watches. I believe they should be made available to clients who have purchased other mo
Inbound by Noon Today-Collection Finished!
Many will not understand this purchase {when you already have the 1R} but after trying to like my new Rolex GMT WG Pepsi, I just could not get there. Why have a new watch which is your least favorite? I could not even bring myself to de sticker it. I know I am in the minority here but I like TT models and have owned many. I wear short sleeves year round and wanted a PP that can be under the radar. I really love the entire 5980 line and have I mentioned the blue dial........ George from Govberg made me an offer taking in my Pepsi on this trade which was really fair. Being a TT and the blue dial color, it really seems like a different watch. So now the wait for the FedEx truck begins again. I have finally found the cure for my Rolex addiction.
Can I pull this off? (Pam372) - opinions please
Hi allI visited the panerai ad last weekend to try the 372...I love the look of the watch but of course was concerned about it's size. if the 390 were still available I'd probably go for that, since the 44mm luminor case is a good fit for me... so anyway:Here are a few pics I snapped off the watch on my wrist. Do you guys think I can pull it off? The lugs I think overhang slightly over the edges of my wrist. I'm 6' tall with thin lanky build...Thx for your opinions!!Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 4
