Hautlence Coming to North America
Swiss luxury watch brand Hautlence has announced a new agreement under which New York-based Totally Worth It will distribute Hautlence timepieces in the U.S.A. and Canada. Launched in 2004 and based in Neuchatel, Hautlence produces innovative and imaginative timepieces in small numbers. Totally Worth It distributes several niche brands in North America. Alexis Sarkissian, founder and chief executive officer of Totally Worth It, said in a media release: “Rarely opportunities arise to represent exceptional brands such as Hautlence and for experienced professionals to distinguish themselves and grow while providing personalized service to the trade and the most demanding collectors.”Sarkissian is a former former president of Roger Dubuis with twenty years of watch industry experience. First AP, thanks to Mosco!
Just got my first AP today, a silver dial 15400. I considered the 15400, 15300, and new 15202, and ultimately decided on the 15400 as a daily wear kind of watch. I have tried on the new 15202 and absolutely love it, so that may be my next target. I was conflicted on dial color. I usually like blue dials the best and on the 15202, it looked perfect. When I tried on different 15400s, I wasn't as sure. Ultimately Kilyung's great photos of his 15300 convinced me to go for the silver dial. So thanks Mike!I also have to give a shout out to Mosco. I got the parts list from Jocke's SM300 project, Rikki was kind enough to put it all together for me and did a full service on the movement. I know there are some who feel this is a franken-watch and I'm not going to debate that. If you take a movement from one watch and put it in the case of another, then it really isn't original or even original with replacement parts, it's an amalgamation. So I can't really call this an NOS Seamaster, it's a wanna-be, but it's my wanna be.Didn't want to pay the watchco prices, didn't want to buy a watch I knew nothing about from ebay or watchuseek. Instead I borrowed Jocke's blue print, bought the parts from Otto Frei, and Rikki was kind enough to pull the movement from a vintage Geneva, service it and put it into a brand new 166.0234 replacement case.Here are some before picture:
