Uniform Wares 302 Series Watches
Minimalist watch brand Uniform Wares has launched an update to their 300 Series chronograph. The new 302 Series combines a reliable quartz movement with an updated range of finishes and new leather straps. Uniform Wares has been around since 2009 and produces exclusively minimalist and highly legible watches which are clean, modern, and feature very sparse dial layouts. The new 302 Chronograph offers a 42 mm wide steel case which is available in brushed steel, black PVD, or PVD rose gold finishing. The cases are lug-less and promote a very clean and modern aesthetic that pairs nicely with the pump-style pushers and crown for the chronograph and time display. The case measures 11.25 mm tall which should make the 302 very wearable and, due to the lack of traditional lugs, it should be a great fit for smaller wrists that want the visual punch of a larger and more bold watch. A big thank you to all people at Burberry in Amsterdam
I was delighted when I received an invitation for their Master Class watchmaking course in Amsterdam, guided by one of their highly skilled watchmakers. Earlier this year, during their event at the 24 hours of the Nrburgring, I already received a short course on watchmaking but this was going to be the full program. At the end of the day, we received an official certificate, signed by Burberry CEO Mr. Lambert and watchmaker Mr. van Graas.A big thank you to all people at Burberry in Amsterdam and of course special thanks to their watchmaker, Mr van Graas.
Smiths Everest (Timefactors PRS-25) Review
In order to talk about the Smiths Everest watch, one must introduce three brands, two people and one very significant historical event. The Everest, unlike most homage watches, is an homage in name and form, but to two different brandsas well as to their historical intersection at the highest peak on Earth. You see, in 1953 when Sir Edmund Hillary and Sherpa Tenzing Norgay made their historical climb to the summit of Everest, they had with them two watches: a Smiths and more famously, a Rolex. At this point in time, Smiths is clearly the more obscure brand. One of the only English watch brands of the 20th century, Smiths designed and manufactured timepieces, including movements, in the UK from around 1945 to some point in the 70's. Since the brand dissolved it is no surprise that Rolex has been able to capitalize on this event, making the fact that a Smith's was on the journey somewhat obscure to the general public. These days, the Smiths name has seen a bit of a resurrection, as it is
AP Virgin~ Still an Virgin after 2016 LV / GTG
In the AP shop and I see this, see pic #1. I have thought about AP and felt they were too big on me. The 41mm seemed to work and I said, I'll take it. The AD told me it was Not for sale! What? I was shown several other watches and given the opportunity to buy one from them and become a customer of theirs and possibly have a chance to buy one. NO Thanks! A few other pics for the AP Lovers!
