TOP 10 Watches Of SIHH 2015
Attending the SIHH watch trade show in Geneva, Switzerland, is as much an exploration of geo-politics and economics as it is experiencing what's new in luxury watches and jewelry. 2015 was another slow and restrained year that will be historically relevant because just days before the opening of the show the Swiss National Bank decided to immediately change the valuation of the Swiss Franc making it more valuable against the Euro C and thus also against most other world currencies as well. In one fell swoop the Swiss Franc C which most watches presented at the SIHH are based on C increased in value by 20%. The ramifications of this were not insignificant, as buyers from around the world suddenly had to face the reality that they had less buying power, and the Swiss watch brands faced the reality that they would sell a lot less product.SIHH is, after all, a sales event whose main goal is to attract retailers from around the world to order the newest luxury novelties that will later be s
Omega speedmaster broad arrow advice
Hi everyone I'm looking for some guidance and hoping that you can help. I have always been a rolex man, I started with a datejust and have recently acquired a new GMT IIc which is awesome. I'm really attracted to the history that is associated with these iconic time pieces and like the thought of owning a piece of history and appreciate the precision engineering that goes Into to making these watches. My long term goal is to collect an example of each of the iconic watch styles. I've decided that it's a chronograph that is next on my list of acquisitions. I naturally turned to look at Daytona's but have not really found them very appealing and the lack of a date display has pretty much ruled this out as a choice. I have therefore turned to Omega which also has it's fair share of iconic pieces and been surprising impressed.I really like the speedmaster but particularly the broad arrow variants and wanted some info, thoughts, advice and possible pictures about the watch around, ? though
Kind of unexpected love for the perpetual
I've been trying to get into the brand for the last year via stainless Nautilus....I think most can guess how well that's going with the environment now. I dropped by the local AD and was checking out the small inventory (expected) and got pricing for the 5146g (which I'm interested in also to possibly be the first to get into Patek) along some other models...been chatting with the sales guy since he lives around me for awhile now so he decided to pull out a 5320g to offer since the knows I'm a watch guy.....the only real problem I can see is the price....watch absolutely blew me away in so many ways. He mentioned discounts are small even with models like the 5146.....didn't ask for the 5320 but didn't sound like they'd discount. Just wondering what you guy's experiences are with your dealers when dealing with a piece like the 5320. I might actually be in the real line I'd imagine if I went this direction. Thanks in advance to that big Patek guys here for advice.
BLNR vs Daytona 116520?
Ignoring the obvious price difference, which is a more versatile watch for a first time Rolex owner?
