German Junghans Aviator Chronograph Picks Up In Breitling Aerospace's Foot Steps
The Breitling Aerospace is one of Breitling's most successful watches. Why? Because it was relatively economical, masculine stylish, and housed Breitling's Super Quartz movement (thermoline Quartz which is about 20 times more accurate than a standard quartz movement). However, the last iteration of the Aerospace released was a while ago. Close to 10 years. Yes, there has been a resurgence in the popularity of mechanical movements, but there is still such a big market for them.Realizing this, Germany's Junghans felt it had a way to offer a similar watch to the Breitling Aerospace collection while adding its own strengths to the mix. Junghans has been at the forefront of radio controlled watches for years. These watches receive signals from local atomic clocks (you have to be in a participating country which includes Germany, UK, Japan, USA, and some surrounding areas), and constantly sync themselves. This means you never need to worry about to the second accuracy, for the most part. If
AD versus PP salon buying experience
This week I had the good fortune of being able to pick up PP Watches - one from an AD and the other from the Salon.Just wanted to compare and contrast the experience:-AD - good experience albeit with no price reduction due to the watch being very sought after. got to keep the transport packaging although I wasn't given any freebies (case, scarf, pen etc)Salon - unreal experience, got to see and try on the 2015 collection, listened to some minute repeaters, lots of freebies (scarf, pen, leather watch wallet, first service included)- excellent all round experience. Wasn't allowed to keep the transport packaging for the watch.Based on pure purchasing experience and customer service then the Salon comes out top - however for best prices, assistance in sourcing sought after watches etc then I would have to give it to the AD.
My new solid link bracelet is squeaky.
So I have been wearing my SD43 a lot lately, and I notice that my bracelet is squeaky. This is kind of a new thing for me as none of my other Rolex bracelet has that problem, including my sd4k which also has a solid link oyster ss bracelet. Has anyone had this problem. Any solutions that doesn't make the watch greasy such as oil / w40 etc...
Milestone watch: what should I get?
I'm looking at what I'd like to add to my modest collection in anticipation of a few big milestones this year. I'm having a bit of trouble choosing what to pair with my Explorer. I can only purchase one watch. I've narrowed it down a good bit so far:Submariner - Classic and timeless, but also black faced like my Exp. I go back and forth on date/no date as well, but I think I'm leaning towards the 114060 between the two.Milgauss Z-Blue - The first Rolex that I really fell for. The color is incredible, but definitely a less versatile piece. It also has a polished bezel like my Explorer, so I don't love the similarity there.SD4Kc - One of my favorite watches. They've been ticking up in price recently, but with some searching I think I could find a reasonably priced one. Main issue here is cost.I'm open to other options as well!
ROLEX in Extreme Cold & Extreme Heat
