Omega Service Question
I just purchased a new PO from an AD. The watch is running +4.5sec /day which as you all know is within COSC specs. If I have my local watch maker regulate it, the warranty will be voided. I contacted my local Omega AD about getting it regulated and their reply was : As an Authorized Dealer of Omega, we can send your Planet Ocean in to Omega for a service under warranty. Omega does not authorize any in-house watch makers for warranty service. There will be no charge, I will however need the warranty card and it will take 6-8 weeks to complete. The Planet Ocean is Chronometer Certified and this means that the time keeping needs to fall within a specific daily rate. That rate is -4 seconds to +6 seconds a day. This means that your timepiece is working within the Chronometer Certified range so I cannot guarantee that sending it in to Omega for regulation will change your daily rate significantly.Does anyone here have experience sending a watch to Omega for regulating? Phillips auctions
So I'm looking at the final bid prices on some of these watches on the Phillips Auction site from November and they are incredible. Some pieces I get, but others like a 1973 SS DateJust went for $47,000!? Seriously? I'd say $3,500 is the going rate. Also a PVD coated 2008 Milgauss for $87,500! Wow! Am I missing something. I think some of these bidders got caught up in the moment!

I for one am hoping for a sub redesign...
.... at Basel 2019 or perhaps 2020. Slimmer lugs, thinner case and new movement please - that would be the cherry on top. I've owned 4 maxi case references, including PM, and all of them were flipped at some point PURELY due to how the square case looked on my 7 wrist. It always just looked like the watch was wearing me, as opposed to me wearing the watch. And it was frustrating to finally realise it, since they're all great watches. For now DJ41 and a soon to be added Tudor Blackbay 58 will keep me satisfied. Anyone else wishing for newer Rolex sport watches closer in dimensions to the 5-digit references of yesteryear? Scratches and dings = stories
I was strapping my favorite watch - my SD4k - on my wrist this morning, and a little ding on the side of the case caught my eye. I had forgotten about it, as it's been there for a long time, and it actually brought a smile to my face. Got me thinking of all the places I have traveled, things I have accomplished, and fun I have had while wearing this watch. I banged into a doorframe on the night I proposed to my wife, because I was nervous, which led to that little ding. Great memory of that night! What stories does your watch tell?
