Bovet Amadeo Fleurier Virtuoso IV Watch
Bovet is really cranking out new high complication watches C which, in truth, is not a particularly new thing, given the luxury watch maker's activities over the last few years. When Bovet comes up with a concept they like, the result is a lot of high-end artistic models that subtly build on one another. Put the new-for-2015 Bovet Amadeo Fleurier Virtuoso IV next to one of the other Virtuoso models, and you might not be able to immediately tell the difference. If you find yourself in that position, you likely aren't alone. In fact, the best way to identify the Bovet Amadeo Fleurier Virtuoso IV among the other models might very well be looking for the elephants. Or the doves, angels, or horses, that is.One of the new aesthetic features of the Bovet Amadeo Fleurier Virtuoso IV is the placement of hand-engraved figurines on the dial of the watch. All Bovet Virtuoso models that I can think of already exhibit lots of hand-decoration, but for the Bovet Amadeo Fleurier Virtuoso IV, clients ca
Bring a Loupe: An Early Look At The Christie's May 2016 Auction, Featuring Some Masterpieces From Breguet And Patek
As we at HODINKEE like to do, I am thrilled to give you an early look at some of the highlights from the May 2016 auction season – here with a focus on our friends at Christie's. We already know that cross-town rival Phillips has a special, stainless-steel chronographs sale planned for the weekend of May 14th in Geneva, but that doesn't mean Christie's isn't going down without a fight. In fact, based on what you'll see here, it's fair to say we are in for an absolutely incredible weekend of watch sales. Let's get down to it. The Earliest Patek Philippe 530 Oversized Chronograph In Steel, With A Sector Dial 1 OF 12 This 530 Steel is the earliest known example, dating back to 1938. Okay, we'll start with the most exciting watch to me. This thing is downright insanity, a true grail watch for me personally. What you're looking at is a reference 530 – the oversized Patek chronograph from the vintage era – consid
AP RO or ROO Novelty
Hi all,I am new here and this is my first post. I am a proud owner of a Rolex GMT 2 Black Dial which is the only watch that I have. I feel that it is now time to add another watch into my collection and I pick AP to be my next watch.I am really attracted to the AP ROO Novelty Ceramic however my only reservation is its size and my relatively small wrist size (6.3 inches), I wonder if any of you have pictures of the watch on small wrist? Looking forward to hearing from you all!
An often overlooked reference
Most of the attention seems to go to the annual calendar and nautilus... So here is my favorite reference.
Buying a used 116520..
Good morning,I'm going shopping with a buddy at a jewellery exchange for a black dial Daytona, with the SS bezel. he may have several in stock, what indicators should we be looking for to ensure we get the best quality piece? the seller is trustworthy selling used pieces, they generally don't come as full sets, but the prices reflect that. thanks in advance.
