Is the Sales Decline Slowing?
The Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry FH reports that November recorded the highest monthly value of the year for Swiss watch exports, and also the most moderate decline at -10.6% compared with November, 2008. The report notes that while the November figures are negative, they represent a marked improvement over prior months. For 2009 overall, levels remain low however, with exports down 23.7% for the first 11 months. For November, steel watches performed well, declining only 3.8%, and bimetallic timepieces registered a gain of 8.4%. Gold watches were down 17.1% and platinum were off 53.5%. Looking at leading markets, exports to the USA were down 21.4% while Germany was down 23.3%. Exports to China increased of 36.1%. The largest market, Hong Kong, was off 14.2%.In terms of price points (export values), watches priced at 200-500 francs increased 20% both in value and unit volume. I stopped by my local AD yesterday to try on SS Daytona with the white face. Well no shocker they didn't have one in. So the lady behind the counter asks if I am familiar with AP. I say yes and we walk over to the AP counter. She pulls out a SS ROC with the white face... I think I am in love... I had just reached a point where the 12K on the Daytona was sounding like a good idea, but I think if I go that route now I will be left wanting. sorry for the bad pic

Red RO Bezel?
Just a little fun post. My 2.5 year old has been asking me to get him a watch for a while now (the first time he asked me it melted my heart...almost as memorable as his first time calling me dad ).Saw this little guy and thought it would be fun to pick up for him. Who can resist a RO inspired bezel with Spiderman? Even the case is similarly styled as a RO case complete with rubber strap It's definitely a bit bigger than I expected as beside my Jumbo it actually looks pretty big, but I guess big watches are the trend these days, right?Quick pic of our father and son watches. Will take some wrist shots when I get the chance.

What would you do.
I am thinking of buying either two Omega PO one being the bond watch or 1 Rolex Submariner. What would you buy and why. Thanks for you helps

So...case changes
Hey all, haven't been around the block lately but with all this Basel news, I'm genuinely curious; has there been a case redesign?? I've been staring at the new Deep Sea's stock picture and the old one's for about a half hour now trying to discern this mythical change!I am very bitter about the blocky lugs and have nearly sworn off modern Rolex for that reason alone. If this is a return, I am beyond excited but I'm not seeing it.Anyways, I really need to update the signature; I've made some changes to the ol' collection recently!
