Introducing: The New Vacheron Constantin Overseas Chronograph, Now With In-House Caliber 5200
Big news! Vacheron Constantin has released a new Overseas model using a new in-house made automatic movement, the caliber 5200. This is big statement for Vacheron Constantin – the Overseas chronograph has traditionally used a modified movement, the caliber 1137, which is based on the F. Piguet 1185. This elevates the Overseas into a whole new realm – let's have a look. 1 OF 3 The new automatic caliber 5200 movement took five years to develop, and is comprised of 263 different components, including a column wheel coordinating the chronograph start-stop-reset functions and a vertical coupling clutch that allows for a smoother start for the chronograph hand. Additionally, the column wheel features a screw in the form of the Maltese cross, a signature for the brand. 2 OF 3 The 42.5 mm watch is available in stainless steel (comes with three interchangeable bracelets, rubber, and/or leather straps) or 18k pink gold (available with a leather or rubb

One watch, 3 personalities...
Well, it looks like I'm really diggin' my Diver. I first got it 31 days ago, and I can't recall ever being so happy with any other watch. Ever. And I've had quite a few over the years... But back to the title of the post, I wanted to share how versatile the Diver really is. Yes, you may be able to say the same for other AP's, but since I have a Diver, this is what I'll share. With the original black rubber strap is is a true sports watch. It looks like a diving watch, and plays the part really well. Goes great with casual looks, it is light, it is comfortable and looks like a killer high-end tool watch.rubber.jpgBut when you add an original AP Hornback leather strap and deployant, it transforms into a more sophisticated and elegant piece, one that works great with a sports jacket, or business casual look. It still is reasonably light, and extremely comfortable, and having a deployant makes it super easy to get on or off your wrist, while keeping the strap looking like new
argh! Got wrong link for my Jumbo! the wait continues!
As some of you saw earlier this week it was a long day Wednesday waiting for fedex to arrive with my new jumbo. It barely fit so ordered an extra link...managed to order direct from Clearwater just before cutoff and they close for rest of year. What luck! Or so I thought.Arrives today and it doesn't fit in the bracelet. Son of a ... So much for wearing over the holidays since I now have to wait until January 5th to address it Anyway thanks for reading my whining. Had to share with an audience that may understand. ..my wife thought it was funny. Took a few snaps to share:
Which 5396 looks better?
I was considering to go with 5146G cream dial when the AD showed me several 5396 series.a) 5396G-001 white baton b) 5396G-014 slate breguet numbers c) 5396R-014 rose gold with blue dialI haven't seen 5396R-014 rose gold with blue dial yet. I like breguet numbers but white version looks cleaner.Curious to know what others think - out of the above three, which version is good and which is no-no?Searched the forum but haven't seen much discussion on 5396R-014.
