Watches NEWS
Itay Noy Hyper Scape Watches
Israeli watchmaker Itay Noy?presents these two new Hyper Scape collection watches for 2013. The Hyper Scape collection includes the Hyper Cityscape and Landscape watches, each in positive or negative color tones - that roughly translate into being a day and night feel for the look. The watches further contain a new movement used for the boutique brand, as well as a brand new case design. This is the first square-style case for the brand and it looks very lovely in brushed steel with those rounded corners. The case is a perfect square being 42.4mm wide and tall. It isn't too thick at 11.6mm. Of course there is a sapphire crystal over the dial as well as for the exhibition case back window. Water resistance is 50 feet, which is understandable given that water resistance in watches with non-round sapphire crystals is difficult. The soft feel of the case mixed with the lugless style makes the Hyper Scape look like a frame for the dial. Which is perhaps why the dials are so much like pictures
Linde Werdelin Oktopus 1,111 Meter Dive Watch
Another new watch for Linde Werdelin in 2009 is the Oktopus. Building on the Biformeter watch case and theme, the Oktopus is a beefed up version of the models in the already sharp looking Linde Werdelin watch line. This is also the first dedicated diver's watch for the quickly growing brand featuring a rotating diver's bezel and integrated helium escape valve. There is also the little matter of the 1,111 meters of water resistance, that is over 3,300 feet! Almost a mile underwater at this point you are simply adding a wow factor to the watch. Even though you'll never go that deep, it does comment strongly on the secure construction of the watch, as well as the thickness of the metals and sapphire crystal used in its construction. The original Biformeter case profile was surprisingly thin. I discussed the watch at length in my review here. The Oktopus case is thicker by 1.5mm making it 13.5mm high (still not bad). The case is 46mm wide and 49mm tall. That sounds large, but it is real
Target audience of AP
Wanted to run an observation by the group here. I've been a fan on the Brand and the quality of the watches and movement finishing for a while but something is keeping me away. I've started to notice younger and younger aged gentlemen wearing APs. Mostly Rubber Clad/Offshore and few Royal Oaks. The marketing too has gone heavy on sports, and social media. Also seeing virtually no adverts or launches for the non Royal Oak line or dress watches which is a shame. Has AP changed things around when it comes to the target audience? It's a superb brand and watch maker, but it feels like more a fashion icon/status symbol in last few months to years. Recommendations for Panerai Service
I am looking to have a couple of Panerai's serviced and would like to know if there are any watch repair specialists that anyone would recommend in the lower 48 of Continental US. One is a PAM 356 which has a Valjoux 7750 movement that I know anyone can service. The other is a PAM 244 and I'm not sure what movement it has. Thanks in advance.
Snap! And Im in!
Lots of mixed opinions today, but I was delighted I have to say. This was already on my wrist today, and one day soon (hopefully) the new model will join the team :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
