Romain Jerome Batman-DNA Watch Debut
For the 75th Anniversary of Batman, Swiss Romain Jerome has partnered with DC Comics to produce the Batman-DNA collection of limited edition watches. There is one version of the watch, and it is limited to just 75 pieces, with a Batman logo on the dial and case shaped with angles on the bezel to remind of the Batmobile. It might appear as though there are two versions, but it is just a "light and darkness shot" of the watch with and without the luminant glowing. This is the first watch relationship between Romain Jerome and DC Comics, but the concept is by no means a surprise, given Romain Jerome's history of making limited edition watches in honor of pop culture icons.Romain Jerome and Batman fans will love the new limited edition watch, but it won't win any converts who are more interested in traditional horological fare. In many ways, the almost $20,000 timepiece is the ultimate Batman fan-boy wearable. It captures the dark, strong essence of the modern Batman characters nicely, and
Advice needed on first AP
I am very close to buying my first AP and I could not be happier. I have decided on the 15400 in white or blue; however, I am trying to justify paying full price for the blue dial with a 5 year boutique warranty vs. getting a nice discount at an AD for the white dial. Can anyone recommend an AD that could help with a discount on the white dial? It is worth noting that my current collection does not include a white or blue dial anymore. Also, this will be a daily wearer. Thank for your thoughts!Ryan
My Trulli on original black/red horned back
After a rather lengthy wait, the black/red horned back finally arrived and here it is, on the watch! I have several straps for my Trulli i/c grey horned back and cognac gator but I think this strap looks best.
PAM00512 or some other Panerai?
Hi All,I recently started a thread (in this and the Rolex forum) asking for opinions on whether I should buy a PAM00512 or another Rolex (the 16613 Bluesy). Got great responses, and after reviewing the comments and trying on the Bluesy and realizing it is not for me, I ruled it out, and decided that I want to go with a Panerai.I really like the PAM00512 (have tried in on twice), but before I pull the trigger I would like your views on whether there are other Panerais I should be considering (I am a relative newbie to the Panerai world). To help out, here is what I like about the 512:1. The case size. I have relativey small wrists, and like the idea of 42mm, and that it fits nicely under a cuff. 2. Manual Wind. This will not be a watch I wear every day, and so I see no advantage in having it be an automatic.3. The clear case back. I don't have one, and think that its a neat thing to have on a manual watch.4. The overal look, and that fact that I think it will look great with b
Looking to Insure my Rolex
I just switched Homeowners insurance. They do not cover jewelry. I have a 3 year old Submariner two tone and an eighteen caret gold bracelet worth $8k that needs insuring. My wife has 2 rings worth $5k each. I was recommended by some and discouraged by others with using Jewelers Mutual. Has anyone had or know of anyone that had good luck with claims from them or any other insurance company. I hope to never make a claim, but in the event that I need to, I would like to think that there will be no hassle. Jewelers Mutual and Chubb seem to be the big ones that pop up on the search engines.
