ROO spotted at Dodgers/Braves games
I am watching the Dodgers vs. the Braves tonight. The manager of the Dodgers , Dave Roberts, is wearing what I believe to be a Royal Oak Offshore with a rubber strap. Rare to see this on a TV.
Source for Omega style straps?
Does anyone have a source for generic straps that look like the OEM Seamaster and PO rubber straps? I know about Isofrane.
Speedy Pro......yes it tells the date.
I am loving my newest, a 3570 speedy pro. I am also very forgetful when it comes to the date, so I usually buy watches that give the date. Well after learning that the speedy can tell the date, I was sold. I use the right sub dial to tell the date, so when winding the watch in the morning, I run the Tach for a minute until the hand on the right sub dial jumps one over. It is super easy to do and I actually love doing it. I really enjoy manual wind watches and this is just another trick that really makes me bond with the watch. I also find it super easy to read, with the marking at 10, 20 and 30, it just takes a quick glance to get the time and date. Honestly, this might just be my favorite watch I have ever owned. I heard that the speedy was special on the wrist, but I must say, super comfortable, super legible, just a amazing watch. Here is a couple of pics., as you can see, it's the 8th today. The ultimate chrono.
Patek Philippe is a dish best served cold
Many years ago, my wife and I were touring some out of town friends around NYC. We went into the Tiffany store (which I'd never have done) and ended up at the Patek Philippe boutique (really more of a museum) on the second floor. Among all the elaborate beauties, I was struck by a very simple white gold 5196. My wife encouraged me to try it on, and we had a nice long conversation with the sales associate, who after all was said and done, wrote down the particulars on Tiffany card. Our friends thought we were nuts for even talking about such a purchase, and i found it slightly embarrassing. My wife made a big point of taking the card and folding it once in half, and putting it in her purse. She said very confidently, I love that watch, it's much more elegant than the big chunky ones you usually wear (ouch). You shouldn't have it now, but I'll buy it for you for your 40th birthday. Then we went to dinner and I mostly forgot all about it for years and years (although who can ever really
I assume this is water damage?
Hello, members. I just looked at my watch today, a gift from my dad before he passed away and noticed the face was foggy. I then felt the pin and it was a little loose. I'm broken and feel sick. Safe to say I'm in for some major repairs? I've stopped in at the Rolex store in the past and spoke about maintenance and they quoted over a grand, easy. They also said it could be a lot more beause Rolex won't work on the watch and not repair everything that needs to be done, which would probably be waaay out of my budget. Should I just store the watch? I'd love some input on my options. Thanks for your feedback. Owen.81DB2ED4-80F9-488B-99E6-50328A37DDAD.jpeg
