Union Glashutte Noramis Watch: Poor Man's Chopard L.U.C Slim
Many, many of you want a simple and classic watch versus everything else that is out there. These watches don't have the immediate sex appeal of a lot of the complex or flashy watches that are out there, but instead grow on you like a good friend, instead of grow tiring once it takes you too long to figure out what time it is. This is the Union Glashutte Noramis, and this type of classic watch has just two hands, and a simple and appealing dial. Really just want you need to have you tell the time, but isn't minimalist in design. Faceted Dauphine hands with an index laden face and soft dial are perfect for that functional classy look that many search for. Here you can have a German Union Glashutte watch, for a good price, that will serve these need. And really, do you want to spend a lot on this?See for example this gold Chopard L.U.C Slim. New AP Diver release
Hey all - Happy Holidays,I'm in the market for an AP Diver in steel. I've been eyeing this piece for a while and went yesterday to try it on. The dealer mentioned that he received a list from AP with a new reference for a diver model supposed to be released soon. He doesn't know when, perhaps at SIHH, or perhaps later. The reference listed was investigated by him and it seems the information he got back mention the new steel diver will have the open case back with a modification in the movement and slightly different seals for the crown and bezel crown.Has anyone got any more detailed information about this or have heard of this rumor before? I'm not sure if the AD was trying to steer me to a different model or was simply being frank. Thanks in advance...
Watch running fast when worn
What causes a 3126/3840 movement to run faster when worn? From my timing, I found that my ROO gained 94s when worn between 9am till 6.45pm. When left off the wrist, it gained about 14s between 6.45pm to 9am the next morning. Is this the 'rebanking' issue that some have spoken about? Is it a simple case of minor adjustment needed or is a major service required? The watch is about 1.5 years old and still under warranty but the nearest APSC is Singapore. Thanks all!
Omega and Phelps
Here is an interesting article that appeared in the Washington Post about Omega's work as timer of the Olympics and specifically how they determined that Phelps won yesterday's 100 m butterfly by just .01 of a second. It's about a lot more than just marketing for Omega....Omega President Has Faith in MachinesThe president of Omega was just another agape Olympic viewer who couldn't tell with his own eyes whether Michael Phelps touched the wall first in the 100-meter butterfly.Stephen Urquhart was watching the race in a corporate entertainment suite full of clients when Phelps took one last half-stroke and hit the Omega-installed electronic touch pad in the wall of the pool at the Water Cube, just ahead of Milo Cavic of Serbia.Almost immediately, the official result giving Phelps first place by a hundredth of a second flashed on to the large scoreboard. But it took an official review of Omega's electronic sensor and digital video data, following a protest from the Serbian delegation, to
