Christophe Claret DualTow NightEagle – Stealth That Gets Noticed
Last year Christophe Claret generated the biggest buzz at Baselworld with the DualTow, a wonder of the horological world created to mark the Manufacture’s 20th anniversary. For 2010, a new, black DualTow appears with the intriguing name NightEagle. If you look closely at the movement and squint, you can see a tiny, polished sign that reads “Genius at work.” Though his name may not be familiar to any but knowledgeable enthusiasts, Christophe Claret’s workshop is where many of the most complicated movements that rest behind more famous dials are designed and created. The Claret Manufacture is indisputably one of the most innovative and skillful in the watch industry. In simple terms, the DualTow NightEagle is a single-pusher planetary-gear chronograph with striking mechanism and tourbillon. Beyond that, it is endowed with several inventions, including one that bears a patent. It is a distillation of the experience, expertise and watchmaking mastery acquired over th
Breitling Barnato 42 Midnight Carbon Watch
While I am generally a big fan of Breitling watches, I don't personally like a lot of the Breitling for Bentley timepieces. These have a distinct design ethos apart from the rest of the Breitling range. I like the concept, but many of the pieces have a design that does not speak to me. Having said that, I really like this new limited edition Breitling for Bentley Barnato 42 Midnight Carbon watch with its good size and restrained look compared to its siblings. The largest watches Breitling makes are probably in the Brietling for Bentley collection. If you are familiar with my work then you know I like large watches - but many of those watches are just too big for me. You really need to be one of the world's biggest-wristed men to pull some of those off. This new watch is a more narrow 42mm wide. It will actually wear larger due to the very wide lug structures. This new 42mm size in the Barnato collection is a welcome addition in my opinion.Breitling fans know that this is not at all the
Introducing: The Tudor Heritage Black Bay Dark, PVD-Coated, 41 mm, In-House, And Chronometer Certifi
Hot off the news that we'd see the Black Bay go bronze, 43 mm, and in-house late last night, we now have another Heritage Black Bay in something we'd never thought we'd see – a PVD case! On top of that, it's COSC certified, 41 mm, and in-house. A lot to like here, people. 1 OF 3 While yesterday's Bronze Black Bay was upped to 43 mm, the Dark remains at the familiar and welcomed 41 mm diameter. The case is steel but treated with PVD, a practice that, to be honest, feels a little outdated when we now have DLC, and indeed the possibility of ceramic cases (which Tudor themselves offer). The case is entirely satin finished and a matching black bracelet is an option here. What's more is that this Black Bay comes with the manufacture movement MT5602, which offers up a healthy 70-hour power reserve. What's more, this watch is actually chronometer certified! 2 OF 33 OF 3 The watch is offered on a black PVD bracelet or distressed leat
Black or white dial for RO 15300?
This watch has become a kind of grail for me. I have tried on the white dial and loved it, but have not seen the black dial in the flesh.Which is nicest?Pictures are welcome!
Finally purchased a Submariner 116610LN at a great price
I've been looking for a Submariner 116610LN for about a month already but all the local AD's are out of stock. Almost bought one from a seller here at TRF but hesitated because of the price being close to retail. I've been looking everywhere for a good deal, then suddenly I saw a posting on Craigslist listed for $6500, it was bought in 2017, with box, no warranty card just a photocopy of a receipt and the card from AD priced at $8750. I texted the seller and asked what his best price was, $5700 he said. I quickly left work that morning and went straight to the bank. On my way to the seller he texted me and said he just got another offer for asking price of $6500. I told him that I have cash in hand, will not resell the watch and almost there. He said he way going to honor his deal with me. So, I met the guy at his office, inspected the watch and bought it with out the warranty card. The seller said he'll contact the AD and see if they can track the original warranty card and possibly
